I know this is slightly off topic so I hope you'll forgive me. I learned about the book "Jackson Family Values" by Margaret Maldonado about two weeks ago on this board. I was curious and ordered it from Amazon. And now I received it last week and couldn't put it down because it was so interesting. For those of you who do not know about the book it is written by Jermain's second ex-wife and it is mainly about the Jackson family. Margaret seems to be very honest and there is no reason why I should doubt her sincerity. I'm not a Jackson fan either (I only like LaToya) but the book is still very interesting. Plus, there are some things about LaToya in the book as well. Although Marageret describes her as a little bit strange she still talks positively about her. And to be honest I love LaToya even more after having read the book. But don't buy it for LaToya only because there's not much info about her in the book. I had to laugh that LaToya always wore high heels at home too (Margaret used to live at hayvenhusrt with the Jackson for some years and at the beginning LaToya still lived there too). And obviosuly she was always in make-up and with high heels which proves to me that she IS the ultimate diva (I always knew .

The brothers' wives were awful to her, if what Toy said in her book was true.

I don't think she was referring to Margaret with this line. After all there are 5 other brothers who were all married too (except for Michael).

Michael was married twice...or do you mean before Toy left?

Yes I meant before Toy and Michael left Hayvenhurst. The book begins at that time when they still live at home and she moves in with Jermaine. I can only recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the Jacksons.

I got it used at Amazon.com ... next to the order button there is always a list that you click on with people who sell used copies of a book, Cd, etc. and I only paid $3.50 for it

I didn't like the book (thank God I haven't bought it, it can be read online at Jetzi's) but the LaToya tidbits were interesting.
btw does anyone know what happened to the reviews on Amazon.com? all have disappeared

I'm glad you enjoyed that book! It's one of my favorite books on the Jacksons.. Is it? Well I'm glad I've finally found a kindred spirit. I love reading autobiographies about/from the music business. I am currently reading Pete Waterman's book.
