#10. The "Heart Don't Lie" video. Possibly the campiest thing that's ever been put on film - features a thirty-year-old LaToya and her thirty-year-old "class mates" that does a spastic dance that would make her less talented brother Michael green with envy!
#9. The sweatband era. What can I say? Most part of the eighties the trendy Toy gave the sweatband a face to be proud of!
#8. "It's not good for you. But that's healthier!" - LaToya about her special "eating once-a-day" diet.
#7. The emotional covers on "Nashville To You" and "Stop! In The Name Of Love". Even though both albums were rushed (some say that "Stop! In The Name Of Love" was recorded in a day!), it didn't stop LaToya from giving it her best and truly made them all her own!
#6. The lyrics to her gigantic club hit "Just Wanna Dance":
Danced on the floor
The guys all stare at me
The women hate me ‘cause they WANNA BE ME!
Shakin’ my ass, with lots of class - that’s WHY!
But they don’t know if I’m a he or a she!
Only Toy could think of something so brilliant.
#5. The fact that she claims to hold her face completely still 4 hours every day to avoid wrinkles.
#4. "Sexual Feeling". 5 minutes of pure erotic poetry filled with raw emotions. Mi piace, indeed!
#3. "LaToya's Psychic Friends". 'nuff said!
#2. "Special Friends". For only $19.99 you too can become a "special" friend of ms. Jackson!
#1. The woman has released 10 very varied albums - from disco, to R'n'B, to some french album - during her 25 years in the business, where all have flopped more or less (often more, sadly) and an eleventh is on the way! At least she enjoys making her art, which is more than could be said about other females in the business (no names, no names !
And I haven't even begun to mention the Full Force collaboration, the S/A/W track "Just Say No!" and the infamous Playboy spread!
