As some of the big UK music festivals are starting to announce some acts for next year, I thought it might be good to have a topic listing who is playing where, and maybe to discuss rumours about line-ups. If anyone is planning to go to a festival, pop in and say so, and maybe say who you want to play!
GLASTONBURY - Next year is the festival's 40th anniversary, so will feature more top acts than usual. U2 are confirmed to headline for the first time ever on Friday night, and Muse are also expected to play, probably on Sunday night.
ISLE OF WIGHT - Jay-Z and The Strokes are headlining Friday & Saturday respectively. Also playing on the main stage are Blondie (second to last on Saturday) and Pink ('special guest' slot on Sunday), whilst Orbital will headline the 'Big Top' tent on the Saturday.
I think IOW is struggling a bit to attract the big acts lately, and that trend looks set to continue next year IMO!

Kasabian are now confirmed as the first headline act for T in the Park next year. I expect they will probably headline at least one English festival as well - probably either V or Reading, I would guess the latter as they've not played there for yonks.

T in the Park has to be the gig to be at.
It has done for a few years now.
Even if they got Jedward then it would still be the best.

i am going to V. i would like too see mika, pink, kaiser chiefs,Pixie Lott (i doubt they would ask her again though), Lady GAGA, Sugababes (i really wanna know what they sound like live with Jade in the band) , JLS (but only if they was on the main or e4 stage because i don't like the idea of getting crushed by their crazy fans in a tent). Girls Aloud (but i don't think they would be asked).

I can't see Pink doing it as she has her own outdoor gigs next summer, but she's doing IOW so its not impossible. Can't see Kaisers or Girls Aloud having anything to promote then but you never know. Cheryl's probably a likely bet for an appearance though.

I think Muse and Green Day are quite likely to be the other headliners - both touring next year, but neither are doing any gigs in Scotland. Arctic Monkeys could be in with a shout as well. I have a feeling the Scissor Sisters will be doing a few festivals as well in 2010, new album's due in March. NME Stage headliners maybe?

Well I've got my GLasto ticket, will probably reluctantly do V again as well.
Happy with U2 as a headliner, fingers crossed that rumours of The Rolling Stones come true also.
Andy Williams and Squeeze both confirmed for Glasto also.

Actually, I can see V struggling a bit for headliners this year... I suspect Arctic Monkeys will play, and er, someone else? Coldplay or Green Day maybe?

And who would you like to see headline then? There seems to be a strong rumour going around that Kasabian may headline now.
