i am sure cowell who works for sony is scared that rage against the machine who are on yes...sony might sell a few hundred thousand copies to line his pockets ontop of the xfactor single
i am all for the sentiment and saw rage live last year so i will be buying the song more in the hope it sends a message to the band that they are badly needed in this day and age

Much as "Killing In The Name Of" is a great song and has been a classic for many years now, it has no chance of beating X-Factor this week! Good effort though and a probable #2. I'm sure it will continue to be played many years after "The Climb" is banished to appearances in dodgy MTV video countdowns.

I'll be starting a Facebook campaign next year for a Christmas song that's never heard these days to beat X-Factor to No.1. I shall be contacting editors of many daily newspaprs to enlist their help with this.

True, but you could say that that only gives time for the X Factor product to gain an unassailable lead.

I think a Christmas No.2 will be a massive achievement for the campaign.

They just played live and were eventually cut off for their use of language!!
They've been number 1 on iTunes all day today and I think were yesterday

I hate this song I'm kind of accepting now that it's going to be xmas #1, but I'm definately not happy about it. Usually I'd be more than happy for something to trump X Factor, but only if the song was any good.

can't believe Radio 5 live let RATM play live on the radio! when they started screaming f*** YOU I WONT DO WHAT YOU TELL ME! you could hear the presenter sh*tting themself shouting "get rid of it"... and then apologised saying 'We asked them not to, but they did it anyway, buy joes record' lol

Usually I'd be more than happy for something to trump X Factor, but only if the song was any good. your right it isn't a good song, it is an amaizing song that people love so much that even 17 years after it was made it is selling hundreds of thousands of copies. what you mean is you don't like it because your opinion on what is good and what is crap is rather odd. the baseline is groovy, the guitar is genius, tom morello is one of the best guitarists of all time. and the lyrics have a powerful message, they actually mean something and most of all the band created it, its not some shoddy karaoke cover that some idiot is forced to sing because somebody told him to. the band are giving their profits to charity and the members of the facebook group, including me are raising money for shelter a homeless charity and encourage people who buy thwe single to donate a little aswel. so far we are at £42,850 if thats all a bad thing then i pitty the person who thinks that
