Hi, we were wondering if there was anyone that could help us out with the Haven Singles Combi chart? Ramz unfortunately does not have the time for it any more, so we need someone else to take it on board full time. Please pm me if you are interested. Cheers.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head.

Here's an idea: we could use Google Docs, so that people with google accounts could upload their own charts. This would save the chart compiler a lot of time as they wouldn't have to go through the spreadsheet.

I'm not sure what it is either, but it sounds like something that could still be problematic. For example, wouldn't everyone have to tag the artists and songs the same? Some would write 'Florence and the Machine' some would use 'Florence & the Machine' or even 'Florence + the Machine' and stuff like that.

Google Docs is a document sharing platform. Basically, the spreadsheet would get hosted on the internet, and people who post charts here can instead go to that spreadsheet and enter their own numbers in. An administrator determines who can access the document.
This could eliminate the naming convention problem that Crazytowel mentioned, as the artists and songs would all be listed in order*.
Alternatively, Google Docs would enable us to have a small chart-uploading committee, who share the workload of uploading the charts.
* - there's a slight issue when somebody comes to chart a song that nobody charted the previous week - perhaps the best thing to do in that case would be for them to insert a new row in the appropriate place.

I can't imagine you'll get many people willing to update the spreadsheet with their chart and its open to people sabotaging songs they don't like
I can't see it working. sorry frag

How much time does it take up?

It's dependent on the number of charts really, if you input them as you go along, it can take as little as 30 minutes each night, usually took me an hour on the friday night to sort the data in the chart, post up, add colours, bold etc... Manick may be able to say more on the topic as he has been doing it more recently...

How much time does it take up? Its definitely easier if you update through the week but trying to do it all in one go is very time consuming At the moment we get between 30 and 40 charts per week As Andy said it then takes another 30-45 minutes to format it for posting
