It is good to do this poll again 1 year on, is Chris Moyles still favorite this time, he won with 8 votes last time. I have included a slightly more comprehensive list this time.

Listening to Simon Mayo in the mornings was probably the best DJ for Radio 1 breakfast radio

I think I'm the one person who liked Mark and Lard's breakfast show That makes two of us! "Circle of Chance" and "Fish or Fowl"; "Stop .......... Carry On"; 'Fat Harry White'; "You Love Us" = bad for the breakfast ratings but so on my marginally warped wavelength.

I read Mark Radcliffe's book last week while I was on holiday and he wrote quite a lot on the breakfast show episode. He accepts that the show was probably too irony-laden for early morning and that some of the "threads" probably lasted too long given that so many listeners only tune in for less than an hour.

I loved Mark & Lard on Radio 1 but they just weren't right for the breakfast slot. Too many people just didn't "get" them or the music.
The afternoon slot was a much better fit for them.
