Anyone listen to Richard & Dave's Retro Countdown on Atlantic Oldies 2NG on the net on Sunday's at 2pm? That has to be a must hear. They are a mind of info, & play a host of forgotten hits from the last 50 years. Yes I listen, either Sunday or when it's repeated on Thursdays at 5pm UK time. Great show, Top 40 too.

Great news. Should be live and not voice-tracked. EDIT. His first two years will be 1966 and 1979.

Wonder if it was live. Someone elsewhere said that they have a few in the can and it won't be live until New Year.
EDIT. From DS:
"Tony Blackburn appeared on BBC1's Breakfast this morning talking about his upcoming debut as the POTP host. He mentioned that the show would be recorded "as live" until January, when he'll then be able to do it live.
The reason, apparently, is that there's a lot of pressure on studio space at BH and Western House at the moment due to building work, with the knock-on effect that Radio 2's studios (along with those of other networks) are fully booked for live transmission work until the new year."

It is pre-recorded until Christmas, then it will be live in January onwards.

The version they played of The Devil Went Down To Georgia was awful. Obviously a re-record but we expect the original hit single version!!

Well what a clanger dropped today. It was 1981 but instead of playing It's Raining by Shakin' Stevens he played It's Raining by Darts from 1978!! Not Tony's fault but that of Phil Swern his producer. It didn't register with me until they started discussing it on DS. Tony actually reads the thread on there about him.

A bit of incorrect info given in the first hour. The You Sexy Thing remix didn't reach No.1 in 1987!

A bit of incorrect info given in the first hour. The You Sexy Thing remix didn't reach No.1 in 1987! Well spotted, a remix did chart in Jan 87 but it reached no.10. Then another re-issue made No.6 Nov 97 after being on the Full Monty soundtrack.
