It's not bad but as I say sounds like just a Robbie track with the others as backing vocalists!!

It sounds like the best Take That Single since 'Back For Good', to me.
It will - easily - be their 12th UK No.1.

Oh I love it (once again though I am absolutely not biased). For those saying a Robbie Track you do realise that Gary is doing quite a bit of the lead vocals as well don't you? I think it sounds more Take That than Robbie solo I think this will be a fab stadium song for their tour next year

It does not matter if Robbie has, (or seems to have), the most vocals on 'The Flood'. It will be a No.1.
He's much bigger in Europe than Take That. It will help it be a bigger European Hit.

I am not a diehard Take That fan, but I like their music and this is pretty instant to me. You have the big builds to the chorus, strong production values and enough hooky bits and strings to make it sound epic. It is anything but weak.

Those who are knocking it as 'weak' or 'disappointing', should go to YouTube & listen to 'Safe', by Westlife - their New Single.
It is not fit to be the 'B' Side of 'The Flood'. The Title of 'Safe', tells you everything you need to know about it.
'The Flood' will be No.1 - it is touch & go if 'Safe' will get there.

Oh there's no doubt that The Flood will be No.1.

Oh there's no doubt that The Flood will be No.1. I hope so, but I fear it will lose out to the inferior JLS single and their rabid fanbase.

You seem to say this on a lot of forums, I bored of reading it now. Slagging off other another song doesn't make this one any better. My opinion on this song: I adore the chorus, whos singing lead on it? I'm not keen on the verses but they may grow on me, I don't like Robbies voice so I think that is what is putting me off, but when I get used to it I'm sure I'll warm to it. I think it will go number one, JLS' is for charity though isn't it? It's going to be an exciting chart battle, but I do think TT will win on both single & album, both groups are looking like they are going to ride eachothers sales right up though.

Take That should really move the single release back 1 week (even if their X Factor performance would then be the week following release), as they will be clearly be beaten by JLS, especially as it's the Children In Need single.
As for the song - its better than "Greatest Day" - don't really love it though.

not liking it much on first listen. I also think that it would be wiser to avoid the JLS clash. But I got the feeling the record company cares just about the albums so a good old-fashioned chart battle sure generates buzz

This is the first forum where I haven't seen people claiming it to be the best song of the year, it's quite refreshing.

Personally, I'd say it is the 2nd best song of the year ............................ called "The Flood". www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E4-9yKTv_I&ob=av2eFunnily enough this was co-writing by former Robbie Williams' tunesmith Guy Chambers, whom Robbie fell out with during the making of his Escapology album.
