British singer Will Young's 'Leave Right Now' has been selected as the exit song for the ninth season of American Idol.
The track, which topped the UK charts in November 2003, will be played as eliminated contestants depart the show.
Carrie Underwood's cover of Mötley Crüe's 'Home Sweet Home' was used in the eighth season, while tracks by Idol alumni including Chris Daughtry and Ruben Studdard have previously been chosen.
Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day' became a digital hit in 2006 when it was picked as the walk-off song in season five, selling over 3 million copies and topping the Billboard Hot 100.
Young rose to fame on the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2002. He has since sold over eight million albums worldwide and released his greatest hits collection in November 2009.
