Announced that Will Young is to be the special guest on Elton John's New Year's Eve show at the O2. It'll be broadcast on ITV at 11.15pm. www.theo2.co.uk/event/elton-johns-new-years-eve-party-20081231.htmlGreat to see Will's name highlighted and in capitals. I was so happy when i heard about this earlier and really pleased for Will that Elton asked him to do this. Never thought something like this would happen! Ah who needs Jools Holland! ;D

Looking forward to seeing this. I'd hvae watched anyway, but Will and an Elton duet is an even bigger incentive to view.

I'm not sure what the homosexual reference above has to do with anything. If two 'straight' singers were scheduled to appear would you have felt it necessary to point it out? It has nothing whatsoever to do with people's talent/voice/appeal so get over it. You can safely watch however as it isn't catching!
I look forward to hearing both Elton and Will and any other guests singing on New Year's Eve, it will make a change from bagpipes!

I'm really chuffed about this - usually Will's nowhere to be seen at this time of year, never mind singing !!

Well I'm looking forward to Will and Elton on New Year's Eve,.I've got fed up with watching Jools and since they can't be bothered to have Will on their show despite his ambitions to get on there, I'd rather watch Elton having a Ball at the O2 with Will ;D

I've never understood why a lot of fans should feel disappointed, because Will hasn't been on the Jools Holland show, as if Jools is some kind of music god or something, he ain't all that and half the guests he has on are crap anyway. At least this year, I can actually watch something enjoyable on TV at midnight.

I do get what you are saying getty about Jools. I suppose my excuse is i do love his show and think Jools is brilliant (going to see him and his band next year again) and would just love Will to be on his show. Nearly everything i've ever wanted for Will to be on has happened except this particular show. I know i shouldn't get too wound up about it and i haven't let it bother me so much now than it used to!

Will and Elton sitting in a tree...! How rotten. Elton's old enough to be Will's grandad and I doubt very much, if Elton could even climb a tree now.

So what did we all think of Elton's show last night and ,more important to Will fans, what about that duet? I loved it ," Daniel" is one of my favourite songs and the combination of Will's vocals coupled with Elton's came off extremely well. Elton was so complimentary about Will's album, praise indeed from such a good song writer. The whole show was brilliant for New Year's Eve and I didn't miss Jools one bit.

I enjoyed the show last night. I thought Alex did extremely well, very polished. Loved the duet and bless Elton for being so complimentary to Will in his intro.

It was a wonderful way to see the New Year in!! ;D I absolutely loved Will's performance, and I thought he harmonised perfectly with Elton. He looked and sounded fantastic, I thought. And how good was Elton's introduction of Will!!

I've not come down off cloud 9 since last night watching the show! Elton's comments about Wil were brilliant - I presumed he rated him otherwise why have him on the show but his praise was so fulsome !! Loved the duet - Will's vocals just get me every time, amazing!

Have only watched the duet once as i was out last night. Was in shock with Elton's introduction of Will - said to Paul i thought i'd never hear that! Will's vocal with Elton was fantastic and even though it's not a song i know very well i thought they sung it brilliantly. Think i need to watch it a few more times.
Was Alex shown on the tv singing?
