After first play. This replaces Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants as the worst "Oasis" album.
A great Steve Lillywhite production can't hide the fact they've lost the driving force, best songwriter and inspiration of the band.
This album will only further dilute the Oasis brand and reputation and enhance Noel Gallager's, as this is nearer to "Dad Rock" in the Ocean Colour Scene rather than the Paul Weller sense. Apart from the horrific "Beatles and Stones" (The House Of Love wrote a far better song of the virtually same title) nothing else on the album is bad. But for a band like Oasis once were, they've achieved perhaps an even bigger crime of making a dull, competent, mediocre, workman like album instead which you'd expect from latter day Stereophonics or Travis.
I hate seeing my favourite bands/acts release second rate material, and I'm sorry but the majority of this album is second rate. Made even more tragic when compared to Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? as there is nothing on this album that gets close to those albums' peaks, ..... but then none of Beady Eye wrote any of the tracks on those two seminal classic albums.
5/10

really love the album,
Think liam, gem and andy have done really well.
People shouldn't be so harsh on them! Every one knew that Noel was/ is the best songwriter.
but my my " the beat goes on" the morning son, wigwam, kill for a dream.. are pretty damn good.

for me the album is at least a 8,5/10. all these tunes are class A tunes
The Beat Goes On (classic classic classic "power" ballad) Four Letter Word (definitely maybe era.classic)
Wigwam (3 songs in 1-psychedelic) Kill For A Dream (oasis+nickelback's rockstar!!!=a big hit?)
The Roller (instant karma?all you need is love?MG stuff for me) Bring The Light (beers, friends , parties,50s,gigs, critic's favorite) Millionaire (lovely) The Morning Son (an open letter to Noel, sensitive ballad, heartbreaking for oasis fans ) For Anyonec (little gem with The La's "there she goes" vibe)
Three Ring Circus
Plus a great b side that could even be a single: "world outside my room"
