Thanks for a great posting!
The retro sound is authentic and I really like the tempo changes. I'm adding this to my chart next week.
Some of the titles of the other tracks are intriguing - can't wait to hear more!

I guess I'm on the minority, but they totally lost it for me after album 2. I always say bands have to evolve an move on but for me they've moved in the wrong direction musically, and lyrically it seems to me like the inspiration is gone... sorry

IMO Brick By Brick is a real grower. Wasn't at all sure at first but absolutely love it now. It's definitely more 'transatlantic' sounding than their other stuff. Worked for Adele! And could Helders/Agile Beast have got more singing duties on the new album? PS 9. Piledriver Waltz - this one is on Alex's EP as the soundtrack to Submarine. No idea if it will be the same on the AM album but this is his solo version (fantastic!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uij9h6N2zzEShort samples of the EP: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzTsTrvoN3k

Looking forward to the album.

think the artics are one of the bands that have lived up to the hype and delivered every time changing sound direction great band.

think the artics are one of the bands that have lived up to the hype and delivered every time changing sound direction great band. I agree with this. The hype they experienced would have killed many bands stone dead but I think they have played it very well (including releasing 'Who The F*** Are Arctic Monkeys' and singlehandedly derailing all criticism of the level of hype). It just wouldn't have been possible to carry on bringing out albums with the subject matter of the debut ad infinitum. They have proved that they aren't afraid to experiment musically and that to me is a good sign for their longevity.

listening to the album, pretty good on 1st listen... why did they chose Don't Sit as first single?? almost every other track would have been a better single

The first 2 songs they put 'out there' (Brick by Brick and Don't Sit Down) before the album was released are IMO the 2 worst songs on the album (although I can imagine Brick By Brick being a great live song). Who knows what goes through the band's mind? They seem to enjoy confusing people, lol.

heard 'don't sit down...' the other day - definitely better than 'brick by brick', but both are decent. bit irritated about them banning the album in america because of the title. seriously?!
