I remember years ago, back on Dotmusic kelirich did a great countdown of the 30 worst lyrics ever.
IMO, Snap! deservedly takes the prize for the crassest pop lyric ever, and Des'ree for the laziest rhymes - though I like both tracks anyways.
One that hasn't been mentioned which I think is an awful lyric yet the song was a huge hit: Inner Circle - "Girl, I want to make you sweat / sweat 'til you can't sweat no more / And if you cry / I'm gonna push it some more"
On a more humorous note, Black Eyed Peas - 'My Humps' ("my lovely lady lumps") must be among the worst lyrics ever.
Dubstar: "I was making myself the usual cup of tea when the doorbell strangely rang"

Dubstar: "I was making myself the usual cup of tea when the doorbell strangely rang" I remember that one. I always wondered how a doorbell ring could be strange

I remember that one. I always wondered how a doorbell ring could be strange Yeah, not a great lyric. I always thought it was because the doorbell didn't ring that often, so it was strange when it did (by the robber/mugger). Anyway, it's prompted to me stick on a Dubstar Best Of... regardless. Not the worst lyrics in the world, but Mr Vain has always made me cringe to the point that I can't listen to it. Also, Des'ree "Life" gets brought up as bad lyrics - the follow up "What's Your Sign" had equally as awful lyrics from what I remember.

Surely laziest rhyme must go to the recent Pitbull song where he rhymes Kodak with Kodak?!

^ lol. Oasis have some shockers, but I'm not a fan so can't remember them. Something about ''sister/blister/missed her'' for starters. I just know that sometimes I'll be half listening to him singing on the radio, and I have to screw my face up,thinking 'what did he just say '

^I think it's She's Electric, yes, it goes something like 'she's got a sister/on the palm of her hand is a blister' but what's a wonderwall anyway I think that even the best lyricist can have their bad moments. I was thinking for instance, Elton John's Your Song, the bit that goes:' If I was a sculptor, but then again, no...' that's bad songwriting to me, even ignoring the If I was thing
