who you reckon has the worst song lyrics ever??? we were mentioning Des'ree's song Life in another thread, and I think it takes the prize (I'm afraid of the dark / Especially when I'm in a park... I don't wanna see a ghost/I'd rather have a piece of toast) The Cranberries has some cringe-worthy lyrics too (Suddenly something has happened to me/While I was having a cup of tea...Suddenly I was feeling depressed/I was utterly and totally stressed) and I particularly hate 'the I'm gonna miss you like a child misses his blanket' part in Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry what else? ?

^but isn't it the case for most dance songs?? Shakira has also some bad bad ones, I still remember the one that goes something like 'lucky that my breasts are small and humble, so you don't confuse them with mountains'!!!!!!!!!!!

Most lyrics of dance songs are indeed pretty uninspiring but Party Rock Anthem starts with the most overused lines in the genre.

'I'm serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer' has always stood out for me as a particularly appalling lyric

'Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy'
Is this a good or a bad thing? Who knows how P. Diddy feels when he wakes up in the morning? Or is it just that it rhymes with the last word of the next line, which is 'city'?

Wham! - 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go,don't leave me hanging on like a yo yo' isn't their best, although I still love the song. Dannii Minogue - 'Party Jam' : ''...my name is Dannii,it's time to get loose to my brand new jammy''

^and did radios play that? cos those lyrics are not only bad, they're offensive... clearly the writter never had a friend or family lost to cancer... found an online survey where the award for worst lyrics was Sade's Smooth Operator... cos of the 'Coast to coast, LA to Chicago' but I'm not sure if I understand... I know Chicago is not on the coast, but I always took it as 2 separate lines, Coast to coast / LA to Chicago??

Love 'Firework' but Katy Perry's 'Do you ever feel... like a plastic bag?' always ruins the song for me.
Beyonce's new song '1+1' also has a horrendous line in the first verse, made even worse by her terrible pronunciation: "I don't know much about algebaaaaaaa, but I know 1+1 equals two!".

I seem to remember Ultimate Kaos singing about how some girls like to take it all night long. Yet their average age was about twelve...

For a long time I would have said ......
Lemme hear ya say yeah! (yeah) Lemme hear ya say yeah! (yeah) No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no ,no ,no, no there's no limit! No, no, no ,no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no there's no limit! No no limits, we'll reach for the sky! No valley to deep. No mountain too high. etc....
But a couple of years ago two annoying rich kids who have only got where they are because they are the son and grandson of Motown founder Berry Gordy trumped that .... with the jaw droppingly awful misogynistic lyrics to their breakthrough hit I'm In Miami b**** ...
Everybody on smash, smash Hands in the air, air I'm feelin' on her ass, ass Like a nigga' don't care, like a nigga' don't care I've got a plan, what's your cell? We playing naked twister back in my hotel

Enrique Iglesias' "Tonight I'm f***ing you".
It's a pretty likeable song in the clean version "Tonight I'm loving you".
But the sweary one is thoroughly offensive. It sound like he's planning a rape:- "Tonight I'm gonna do, Everything that I want with you...You're stuck with me, I'm stuck with you...Tonight I'm f***ing you". Thoroughly nasty.
