I like The Beat Goes On by Beady Eye. Will see how much I get into Noel's new stuff, obviously he has the advantage having been the main songwriter of Oasis but then it doesn't sound new anymore really, e.g. as people have said, sounding like one of his earlier (albeit great) songs.
The simple fact is that Oasis were a band on their way out, albeit having made a great revival in the early 2000s after the very disappointing "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants" album. They did have an amazing career, with some extremely great anthems, particularly "Don't Look Back In Anger". However it will be a struggle for them to do anything that matches the heights of what they did before.

Off topic, but Paul McCartney wrote Yellow Submarine. Ringo wrote Yellow Submarine didnt he? Also every song that is written isnt going to be a classic. Suedehead is right I would put all those above Noel and I dont even like Elbow. yeah why not? what about the beatles? lyrics ? at times they seem dodgy. Yellow submarine? wild honey pie? and more Noel is up there with the greatest no doubt
