I cant believe I am starting this thread has anyone listened to this, major kudos for going for some very leftfield 80s classics and some are actually pretty good versions but it is a very weird karaoke, but check the tracks. 1. Parade 2. The Promise (When In rome) 3. Broken Land ( The adventures) 4. Hands To Heaven (Breathe) 5. No More 'I Love You's (The Lover Speaks) 6. Tower Of Strength (The Mission ) 7. Waves (Blancmange) 8. Love Is A Wonderful Colour (Icicle works) 9. The Promise You Made (Cock Robin) 10. You're A Big Girl Now don't know the others they maybe originals . I read a review as Hurts meets Lloyd Webber and on the better tracks its not far off the mark hehe Think my favourite is probably LIAWC.

This is a really good album and it is sad to see it flopping on the mids

Brave departure for Rhydian and from what I've heard of the clips (and the stuff on youtube) some really good stuff on there. Particularly liking Waves, LIAWC and Hands To Heaven. I may just download it (£6.90 on Amazon). The new single is pretty good as well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxYlHFTBliI&NR=1

Parade might be the White & Torch minor hit from 1982. Steve Torch is now a successful songwriter including co-writing Cher's Believe.

Wow. What a great selection of tracks.
Though I have just listened to some of his "covers" and there is no way on Gods Earth I am buying Rhydians renditions of them.

Never been a huge Rhydian fan but this sounds great. Thanks for posting this thread

Rhydian was a great vocalist but I'm not into someone going 80s I want someone to go 2010s with new material...

Great tracklisting. The originals would make a great compilation. I think I bought all the White & Torch singles at the time

LOVE The originals of "The Promise" and "Broken Land". Would't it be great (if extremely unlikely) if either of them were to become a hit on the back of these covers.....Although listening to the 30 sec previews on Amazon of Rhydian's versions....only "Hands To Heaven" really stood out for me.

Waves is a standout for me but then the original is very much an undiscovered classic i believe
