Children In Need 2011 on TV
Thursday: 2 Hour Manchester Rocks Concert on BBC1 from 8PM
Friday From 7PM: That usual evening mix of 20% begging for your money; 30% making you feel guilty you are not donating your money; 40% boring tedium; 10% good bits.

First up:
The Collective - Teardrops:
The old phrase about trying to polish a turd comes to mind. Atrocious vocals.
Anyone else watching?

Tulisa singing solo doesn't cut it at the start, she is not the greatest singer is she.

Tulisa singing solo doesn't cut it at the start, she is not the greatest singer is she. Certainly not compared to Elizabeth Frazier (This Mortal Coil & Cocteau Twins) : This is how it should sound live: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpLt4LB2pVU

OK, so far Lady Gaga was great.
Ed Sheeran was pretty good. Such a pity I find The A Team to equal tedium.
And the Buble is the Buble, now sing Santa Claus Is Coming To Town from his Christmas album. (Me I prefer Josh Groban for this sort of thing).

This isn't live. One hour delay! I know, I have two colleagues at work who have gone to this event. Previously, it's been shown on edited highlights on a one day delay.

Great performance from Snow Patrol Agreed. Thankfully the album is a major improvement on their last album. Why am I feeling really sad watching this CIN clip. As a 40 year old male I'll blame it on thinking about that Scotsman's voice, and how inferior his replacement has been on a certain show I love(d); rather than that adorable Harley's sad story.

Gawd, this is not great so far:
Kelly Rowland new single was performed as mediocre as the single is. James Morrison is a little better; now brought on Jessie J but it's all very ..... beige (yawns); isn't it.
Hell I'll admit it, I'll be keeping an eye on I'm A Celeb on ITV when it starts at 9PM.
For the love of .... now Hugh Laurie is on and instead of being joined by former partner Stephen Fry for some comedy gold, he is indulging in some of that old rhythm and blues. After watching this, I'll never say anything horrible about Jools Holland's jazz blues and boogie woogie ever again.
Time to shoot the booker Gary Barlow for a largely terrible first hour.

Nessun Dorma. Tuneeeeeeeeee!! Considering the age of the majority of the audience at the concert, and the people watching, he really should have booked this artist after his Top 3 second album comeback. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdp1aFWyzmQ

Elbow are sublime, of course.
But after the previous hour, Frankie Cocozza "singing" would have been tolerable.
I know comedians have a sense of humour, but whoever told Hugh Laurie he had a really good voice and should sing in that OxBridge Mississippi Delta Blues voice really was having a laugh.
