Debs is definitely coming forward as the best character, even more than Dexter himself.
I think this season really upped its game with the last two episode. I am so excited for the finale after last week's cliffhanger.

hehe my problem was that a friend of mine figured out the twist halfway thru the season and told me, so no big surprise for me

SPOILERS BELOW
Okay, so I enjoyed the last episode - despite there being quite a few really dumb plotholes. I really think the final reveal is going to be a major game-changer for the show. I always imagined them doing it in the final season, so with the show being renewed for 2 more seasons, it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it. I thought it was genius that Deb was going to find Dexter to tell him she loves him... only to find out he's a killer.

Poor season for me. The twist was one of those things most fans would have at least contemplated, especially given the focus on Harry and Dexter's brother this season. There have been too many "how on earth did they do that?" scenarios this year with us expected to believe one man can accomplish minor miracles (Dexter getting both Harrison and the unconscious killer down from the top of one of the tallest buildings in Miami without the arriving police spotting him being one). Ending was silly again, but a long time coming. Can't wait for more on what the intern's up to. Was weird seeing one serial killer in another serial killer's apartment opening a box containing the hallmark of a third serial killer sent by a potential fourth. Is everyone in Miami at it?!

Definitely agree. The first four seasons are pretty damn flawless television viewing, unfortunately seasons 5 and 6 have been notable declines in quality. The former due to the tone rather than the writing, with the latter trying to return to the 'classic' Dexter format and being a bit too far-fetched in the process. It's still pretty much the best thing on television, but I feel like a 2 season renewal was too ambitious. Most cable series end at the end of their sixth seasons, as there is a creative burn-out factor. I just hope that Dexter doesn't decline in the final 24 episodes.

I think they need/want 2 seasons to fully solve the Deb-finding-out-about-Dexter situation!!
while the arch story this year was kinda meh, the development of Deb's character has been fantastic, it's my fav tv character like ever
but I disagree about s05, thought it was great, loved the whole Dexter-Lumen story... s01, 04 & 05 have been my fav ones...
