I've been enjoying this for a few months now, it is supposed to be coming out in the UK this year. Really really good track. If it gets the exposure it could be a number one:

I really think it's going to be huge. It's already reached #2 on my personal chart, still love it too! And the album's fab.

Quite like this one. Maybe will wait until the album is released before getting it.

Not sure about it on first listen despite everyone raving about it. Will have to let it grow on me

Hate the video!! On the whole the song is OK, prefer the female vocal verse to the male verse, 5 out of 10 on first listen.

Really like this track a lot, got a touch of Sting and Peter Gabirel music influences.

Really like this track a lot, got a touch of Sting and Peter Gabirel music influences. absolutely I was just going to post that on this thread, first thought it was like Police or Empire Of The Sun then by the end deffo Peter Gabriel. This could fast become my favourite song right now. MTV 'Rocks' have started playing it so I will hear it much more now NME TV has died

It is gradually moving up on itunes, a few places a day. If it could just break into the top forty then I think it will start to sail to the top.

It's on my playlist this week and probably single of the week.
Having said that I can't help singing "Baa baa black sheep have you any wool" to the instrumental riff..

Listened to the whole "Making Mirrors" album yesterday. It's lovely. Will be buying it when it gets a UK release.

The video is just PERFECT... Perfectly belongs to the song!!! The songs' story evolves on Kimbra... First she forms part of the whole painting (the relationship thing), then she moves next to him and sings to his ears (that's their splitting up)... then slowly her painting starts getting erased (that's when she parted ways with him... somebody that he used to know)... it all makes sense unlike 99% of the current crop of videos...

the guy's voice is what makes this song tick... as many of the above mentioned, Gotye reminds me a lot of Peter Gabriel, Sting, Empire Of The Sun and the likes... I believe this song is so appealing because many of us have that someone they need to get over from... And with that line "she didn't have to cut me out..." many will be singing along with their hearts on their sleeves... It's got such power and emotion, it is unavoidable... A top 10 slot is A MUST for "Somebody That I Used To Know"

What's the album like is it worth getting, I tend to have an itchy feeling when new artists release their debut albums, but I think this is second studio album, as I seen a different album of his.
