I'm pretty sure it's his third album. It was released in Australia last summer (and some othe places around the world) and it's very good. "Somebody..." is pretty representative.

one thing that worries me is if he's gonna be a one-hit wonder don't see any tracks charting on downloads alone and not much interest in the album either one of my favourite singers in the worst, Irish folk-singer Lisa Hannigan did an amazing cover of the Gotye song on the radio... starts a bit too low but from the chorus on, wow, she as on fire!!!

the album has been top 5 for 2 weeks but he will be a 1 hit wonder although the next single has a great video as well this was a one off blip in good taste by the masses it wont happen again for a while.

Gotye has 2 previous singles on my playlists but neither reached my chart, both reached the bubblers. One of them, "Learnalilgivinanlovin'" released 8 September 2008. That is one week before all those banks collapsed. The other, "Easy Way Out" I have as 7 November 2011 so is probably on the current album.

The album is amazing! Somebody is very representative... You get the upbeat Gotye, 2,4, 6, 7 & 11... experimental gotye 5,8,9.. and reflective gotye 10, 12... somebody is somewhere between all this...

it's a shame if he'll end up as a 1 hit wonder... i don't think any of the follow ups will chart even though Eyes Wide Open is as catchy and as strong... I don't think this feat can ever be repeated ever again... but at least i witnessed one of my favourite tunes go to #1... and that's such a huge feat!

haha... just found this fairly amusing if you have a spare 5 minutes; you need to have watched the WOTE cover (johnny's link) to 'get' this:

After 29 weeks, I think perhaps it is time that people stopped buying it...
