This year I am making the effort to see all of the films that you're supposed to see before you die that I haven't already watched before. The lists I'm using are Total Film and Empire's top 100 and 500 films lists on the Facebook movie challenge app.
So far this has added Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Magnolia, Notorious, It's A Wonderful Life, Ben-Hur, Rebecca, Harvey and Black Narcissus to my watched list

I think I've watched 32 of those, the highest up one I have not seen is "Blade Runner".
I am however guessing that that list was made up by a virgin. It's nerdvana at the top. And "Attack Of The Clones" above "The Third Man"? Dear sweet God.

Yeah, City Of God is really, really worth watching. Even if you get bored with the storyline the cinematography is top-notch. Plus it's based on a true story.

One of my favourite films. If you go to Vienna you can go on a walking tour at night that shows the locations used - and the camera tricks that distort the views (e.g. the view from one cafe is the view from a DIFFERENT cafe).
