had completely forgotten about this amazing band from the early 90s, The Heart Throbs, one of my fav bands as a kid... anyone remember them? ?? was organizing my old vinyls today and I found their debut album Cleopatra Grip... I gave it a listen now and what an amazing album it is and what a great indie band they were... guess they disbanded due to lack of success, cos I don't think they ever had a hit single or a hit album... some of my favs... Yeah, I remember them and I have some of their albums on tape as well. They also featured in Hidden Indie Treasures didn't they recently?

I have a very good reason for remembering them. I saw them live once. I had a choice of two gigs for that night and went for the Heart Throbs for two reasons. One, it was within walking distance of Waterloo which made it easier to get my train home. Two - and more important, I was intrigued by what I'd read about their support band. A band called Suede. The rest is part of Suedehead history
