I love the reactions of the "indie" loving music snobs! Do they forget that past acts to take to the Main Stage and the bizarrely named Radio 1 / NME stage (noone in Scotland listens to Radio 1) include rock heavyweights Goldfrapp, Eminem, Bayonce, Paloma Fail, Dizze Rascal, Chipmunk, The Black Eyed Peas, Plan B, N-Dubz, Ke$ha, Tinie Tempah, Swedish House Mafia, David Guettta, Nicki Minaj and Kylie Minogue? Rihanna will be her usual slutty self rehashing the Last Girl On Earth Tour once again with a few swapped songs while they must be complaining about Mumford and Sons because they are apparently successful stateside (or more likely they snubbed the NME who then decided they were "too pop" and therefore crap and all the little sheep followed)

theres a reason why festivals like that are full of chavs and 15 year olds wearing neon tutus, obviously thats more your scene, fair enough, like i said last year, thats what v fest is for, there are pop fesivals and rock festivals, the two cant be merged, ive been to see pendulum, kt tunstall, alphabeat, the ting tings, bjorn again, keane, passion pit, hadouken!, at the drive in etc so i don't know who all these indie snobs are that your talking about

I even remember jamming in 97 at T in the Park to Abba tribute band on the main stage. Look at some of the history of T in the park headliners : 2002 - Oasis , Chemical Brothers 2003 - REM , Coldplay 2004 - Darkness . Stokes 2005 - Foo Fighters - Green Day 2006 - Red Hot Chilli Peppers - The Who 2007 - Artic Monkeys , Killers , Snow Patrol 2008 - Verve , Rage Against The Machine , REM 2009 - Kings of Leon , Blur , Blur 2010 - Muse , Eminem , Kasabian 2011 - Artic Monkeys , Coldplay , Foo Fighters 2012 - Snow Patrol , Stone Roses , Kasabian That is the type of music related to T-In The Park, for which we all know and love. Now They are sticking in a mainstream pop act into the mix in the form of Rihanna. It isnt Indie snobbery, it is what the usual paying customer expects. The usual paying customer that sells out t in the park every year as they know what to expect.

personally I don't like the fact that festivals are putting people like Beyonce or Rihanna, but at the same time I do understand that they need to bring more people... still think it's wrong though

t in the park sells out in 30 minutes, the entire lot, so theres not an issue with getting more people in
and the amount of chav kids that think pop music is cool because its on the radio and they are to stupid to like anything they aren't told to like setting fire to tents and causing mayhem has increased 6000% since they changed to target 14 year old neon tutu wearing pre teens and other idiots that don't know any better
