Jimmy Eat World - Futures
I've never changed my opinion of that album being my favourite since 2004 when it came out.

very very tough to answer, i like many albums for many different reasons, for a start there are the first albums i ever bought "k by kula shaker" and "out of time by rem". they remain two of my favourite albums to date, both great albums but the first ones you buy stay close to your heart
then theres the albums i played a lot when they came out kasabian, arctic monkeys, maximo park and boy kill boy's debut albums and razorlights second album. i played them more than any other album but not a lot recently so i can't consider them.
now for the albums i always go back to, ones i loved 10 year ago and i still listen to now and think, wow, that was a good album
nirvana - unplugged in new york idlewild - the remote part rem - lifes rich pagent eels - blinking lights and other revelations placebo - without you im nothing
in that order, so i wold go for nirvana unplugged in new york, i don't like live albums but despite that it still is one of my favourite albums ever and i always go back to it

quite a few mostly from the 1989-1994 era especially, my top 5 would probably be
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses Sugar -Copper Blue REM - Automatic For the People Primal Scream -Screamadelica The Sundays - Reading, Writing & Arithmetic
that era will always be special and funnily enough all these albums were vinyl.

Kate Bush - Aerial:A Sky of Honey
It 's the one album (half album?) I always retreat to for warmth and comfort, to completely immerse myself in the melodies and take me away into the lovely subject matter. Just completely beautiful to me and the example I hold up that shows what artists can achieve with an album, rather than just a collection of individual tracks

dire straits brothers in arms YES. fantastic album. i thought i might as well do my top 10 aside from the already-mentioned elbow album, these are probably my best-loved/most-played albums (in no particular order): 'the bends' - radiohead 'funeral' - arcade fire 'the remote part' - idlewild 'blackened sky' - biffy clyro 'hurry up, we're dreaming' - M83 'together alone' - crowded house 'takk...' - sigur rós 'the queen is dead' - the smiths 'talk on corners' - the corrs excluded are classical music albums, of which i have quite a few. probably my most-played album falls into this category.

Basically everything Talulah Gosh ever put down on vinyl, plus a couple of live tracks that never were, and a Peel session track. From start to finish, totally, utterly, heart-meltingly gorgeous. Here's one I made earlier...

Top ones have to include
Nick Drake - Bryter Layter* The Lilac Time - Runout Groove* The Go-Betweens - Oceans Apart* The Revolutionary Army Of The Infant Jesus - The Gift Of Tears* The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses* Nick Robertson & Slice - Show Me A Sign Robert Forster - Danger In The Past Goodbye Mr Mackenzie - Hammer & Tongs My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
* these artists did several outstanding albums, so it's difficult to pick just one

For me it probably has to be The Essential Barry Manilow - Barry Manilow. So many classics on there.
