2013 marks the official return of Brit-pop legends Suede. Fronted by the ever enigmatic Brett Anderson, their new studio album (and their first since 2002) Bloodsports is due on March 18th. NME and Q Magazine recently visited the studio for a preview of the new material with NME proclaiming: “Suede seem brighter, fuller and more energized than they have in a long time”. Brett Anderson said: “After a year of sweating and bleeding over the record it's finally finished so we wanted to get some music out there as soon as we could. ‘Barriers’ isn't the first single but we are proud of it enough just to chuck it out there and thought that it's pulsing, romantic swell somehow summed up the feel of the album quite nicely . The album is called Bloodsports. It's about lust, it's about the chase, it's about the endless carnal game of love. It was possibly the hardest we've ever made but certainly the most satisfying. It's ten furious songs for me have reclaimed from ourselves what Suede was always about; drama, melody and noise. ” Tracklisting 1. Barriers 2. Snowblind 3. It Starts and Ends With You 4. Sabotage 5. For the Strangers 6. Hit Me 7. Sometimes I Feel I'll Float Away 8. What Are You Not Telling Me? 9. Always 10. Faultlines

we already have 2 great tracks from that album "barriers"(free download) and "it starts and ends with you", their first official single after almost 10 years! even if our times are so different now for a band like them which means no success at all, at least i think that "Bloodsports" will be as good as "Coming Up". i cant wait to hear it.

Suede will become the latest act to play an intimate acoustic session at Abbey Road Studios for Absolute Radio.
The gig on April 18 follows the release last week of their sixth studio album Bloodsports and will be broadcast live from Studio 3 during Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show. It will be the band's first ever performance in the iconic studios.
Absolute Radio head of music James Curran said: "This year is already a stellar year for new material from iconic British artists with Bowie and Suede bursting back on the scene in spectacular form. As this is the first time Suede have performed in Abbey Road Studios, this will be a unique performance."

They were, naturally, brilliant tonight.

They were although I hope no band I like ever plays Ally Pally again. Such a pain to get to and from and I don't think it works as a music venue.

It's the first time I've been to Ally Pally and I won't be sorry if it's the last.

I went there for a car show once about twenty years ago, but I suppose the needs are different for that. At least you were there on the right day, unlike one well-known music journalist.
