my fav by far is Birthdays by Keaton Henson, the saddest most depressing songs you've ever heard also Daughter's album If You Leave, unexpectedly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'If You Leave' by Daughter, if not, 'Overgrown' by James Blake.
Also have to mention the Theme Park album which was a pleasant surprise!

The Bastille album is very good. However, I'm going to be predictable and go for Suede's Bloodsports so far. I expect Public Service Broadcasting to put up a good challenge next month.

kinda disappointed myself with the Bastille album. Before buying the album, I already knew and loved all 4 singles (Bad Blood, Overjoyed, Flaws and Pompeii)... after playing the album 25 times, these are still the 4 songs I like in the album, the rest is filler no killer...
most disappointing album though has to be Dido´s. I know many hate her/despise her but I truly like her and her earlier albums were great, big fan. but Girl That Got Away really does not deliver, she really needs to take more risks and make a bolder album next time. I+m surprised cos she´s working with his brother, who´s half of Faithless, Dido could do with a bit of Faithless influence...

Bastille are very like a us band called Yeasayer if you know them especially their 'odd blood' album and the single 'ambling amp' . quirky indie folk plenty bands do that style in US from Flaming Lips through to Grizzly Bear they just rarely bother the singles chart.

By default, as I've only bought two new albums this year (the other being Claudia Brucken's "The Lost Are Found"...which has its moments - but the production doesn't really do her voice justice: her live performance recently in London was so much better in that way), Depeche Mode's "Delta Machine". While there are some tracks that do stand out, I'm not (yet?) wildly enthuisastic about it - it's neither their best nor their worst album...

Think I'd probably have to go for Eels, although that reminds me my vinyl copy still hasn't arrived.
