I think Jack will soon run out of decent material - already his second appearance had some very weak jokes in it.
I'm glad Gabz got through though, especially as she wrote that song herself.

I think Jack will soon run out of decent material - already his second appearance had some very weak jokes in it. That may depend in part on what sort of advice he has received. He may have written enough for the semi-final and the final and been advised what should be good enough to get him through the semi with the best material saved for the final. I said earlier that some of his jokes were a bit predictable. In some cases they were clearly based on jokes by other comedians but that's not over-surprising for a 14-year-old. If he wants immediate success then he probably does need to work with other writers on his material. Otherwise, he might do better to wait a few years. I think the first reaction is to feel sorry for him because of his cerebral palsy. However, once he gets going, he comes across as genuinely funny. Yes, his disability was the main focus of his audition performance. His semi-final routine seemed to be an attempt ot show that there was more to him than that.

Freelusion deserved better than the curtain-jerking slot (to use a piece of wrestling terminology) - something genuinely innovative and different. But I just can't see them making the top 3 from there...

Well, it's obviously the Luminites by a mile tonight. Could be close for 2nd and 3rd. The dancing kids were very good for their age, but I quite liked the other dancer guy. Rosie was good but would she even make the live stages on X Factor?

Luminites were sensational - truly talented.
I did like the Pre-schoolers, and think it will be between them and the jazz dancing guy for the judges choice.

My prediction was right for a change!
And I would probably have done what Simon did and gone to the public vote too as either would have been worthy runners up.
Luminites could seriously win the whole series if tonight's performance is anything to go by

Most of tonight's acts were woeful so Luminites stuck out a mile.

Comparing them to the Black Eyed Peas though, come on! Yeah, a bit of an odd comparison. Quite liked the Luminites..look forward to hearing more stuff from them.

Comparing them to the Black Eyed Peas though, come on! I agree ..... on the evidence so far I much prefer the Luminites!!! The only problem I have with them is assuming they are not holding back on a glut of original material then they should be in XF and not BGT. (If they'd been in last year's dreadful XF series talent wise, they surely would have won it by a mile even with Louis Walsh as a mentor). Last night's episode really was poor bar the bizarre "3D" visual dancers; "the young Mary Byrne" (but at least she sung great in stark contrast to that awful overhyped Alice on Tuesday); and the two acts who reached the Top 3.

So is Cheryl Cole a brummie now?

No-one stands out tonight.
Magician guy was OK, ballroom dancers were OK, the girl singer was OK but there's already loads of kids through. Francine Lewis's impressions were OK (apart from her horrendous attempt at a geordie accent) but simply not funny, which is part of the point with an impressionist.

In many ways watching tonight's SF was the equivalent of listening to Emeli Sande's debut album = Plenty of goods acts but nothing amazing, yet nothing awful.
Francine Lewis' material was actually funny, but a few of her impressions where off-key especially the Brummie Cheryl Cole (I reckon she'll top the voting tonight); the magician was really good and in an ideal world finish in the Top 3 and win the judges vote; but I reckon the public will vote for the 11 year old stage girl brat's really good take on Beyonce's Halo; and the two young ballroom dancers to be in the 2nd/3rd spots. The rest were a mixture of OK (Alex Keiri should be on XF and not BGT) or acquired tastes but nothing rubbish tonight.

Haven't been watching this series but turned over to see Francine Lewis. Love her act! She deserves to win.

^ Her Stacey Soloman on Channel 4's Very Important People was brilliant. However, Terry Mynott & Morgana Robinson did the bulk of the best impersonations:

Saturday:
The best Semi Final by a mile. Attraction deserve to win the whole contest (despite the odious Nigel Farage's twitter displeasure); .... and yet another feckin' mediocre singer with a sob story whom is well fit to look at (apparently) and the Northern Irish regional vote who should be on X-Factor doing an uninspired cover of I Will Always Love You gets put through at the expense of a brilliantly funny ventriloquist ..... aaarggghhhhhh. I also loved the (intentionally?) bad "Dutch" singer Maarty Broekman who was hilariously bonkers.

I don't know why Francine Lewis is on this show, as she is a well known comedienne/impressionist, I don't think she deserves to win this, I thought this show is meant to be about finding talent. Go Figure

I don't see the attraction with Francine - if she was that good then surely her career wouldn't have taken a nosedive in the first place as she's not doing anything new I thought the ventruilaquist should have gone through last night. I'm not denying that the Irish singer was good, but there's enough singers in the competition already, at least the ventruiloquist was something different. Afterall, it is called the Royal "Variety" Show, is it not?
