www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a470186/challenge-tv-to-air-childrens-classic-knightmare.htmlChallenge TV to air children's classic 'Knightmare' Published Monday, Apr 22 2013, 15:58 BST | By Alex Fletcher Source: digitalspy Challenge TV has revealed on Twitter that it has picked up the rights to children's TV classic Knightmare. The classic CITV series, which featured Hugo Myatt playing the Dungeon Master Treguard, originally aired between 1987 and 1994. Knightmare featured cutting-edge virtual reality gameplay and featured children taking on the roles of Dungeoneers and Advisors as they attempted to navigate their way around Knightmare Castle and various challenges with only a knapsack and the show's famous 'Helmet of Justice' to help them. Writing on Twitter, the official Challenge TV account said: "HUGE NEWS!! We can now proudly announce KNIGHTMARE series 1 & 2 is coming to Challenge Friday 10th May at 10:30pm." The show will also be repeated on Saturday mornings. Knightmare was a popular part of CITV's Old Skool Weekend earlier this year.

Excellent news! Hopefully they'll get series 3 as well (and eventually all 8) as that was the best of all of them.

I'd dearly like them to pick up rights to show The Mole. That was epic tv viewing.

10.30pm. Why so late to show nightmare. Its not scary was it? It used to be shown between 4 and 5 oclock for gods sake.
Try and catch one as it was a classic show and ahead of its time.
Not that bothered about Fun House.

Really nice to see a new episode of Knightmare. It's a bit on the cheap but who cares. Maybe this could lead to a series on Youtube or Challenge

There is no new series Simon, Challenge are currently showing repeats
This is a special one-off episode for Youtube's Geek Week
All old TV shows are owned by someone so Challenge (or whoever) has to pay that company if they want to show it on their channel

Really nice to see a new episode of Knightmare. It's a bit on the cheap but who cares. Maybe this could lead to a series on Youtube or Challenge I think they did a good job. The editing was a bit messy but there is so much potential for the show, especially with the fully virtual dungeon. It shows how far ahead of its time the original series was. With a bit of sponsorship, there could easily be a new series on Youtube. This episode has had over 200,000 views in 3 days.

Some positive Knightmare news. The show's creator and producer Tim Child is currently putting together an extended edit of the Geek Week episode, featuring all footage that was shot. Apparently Youtube wanted the Geek Week episode to be limited to 25 minutes so a lot of stuff got cut out.
The aim is to make this extended cut into a pilot episode in order to try and persuade someone somewhere to commission a brand new series. The new version is due to go online sometime next month.
