Just been putting my CD albums back in their cabinet after our house move, only taken 3 months and gave across a few bands I don't remember, one I'm sure was good were Red Light Company, so listening to them now. They sound like the narrow middle ground between Editors and White Lies so very 2007. This was my favourite I think

I haven't heard it for ages though so I suppose I should remedy that some time soon.

Ah yes, I remember this getting a lot of play on XFM back in the day (though I hadn't seen the video until now). And this is probably the most obscure act's album I've bought in Poundland: I had heard of them though, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

I do love The Music. Probably long forgotten but they did release some brilliant singles from 1999 to the late 00s. Including this long forgotten gem, which sadly did not chart as it was a digital only single release in 2004 and is taken from the album of the same name

There was too many bands like them at the time record companies had really oversigned think I bought most if Arnold's singles for 99p or less but they needed something to make them stick out above the crowd and they didn't have that

Yes I remember buying the Arnold singles nice little band but like you said never could really sell much mind you the market was saturated with guitar bands at the time .

Yeah, also they were called Arnold, which is a really awful name for a band. Hence my crack about how I wouldn't have bought the album if I didn't already know about them. My favourite song by them, which I did buy on 7" at the time, was 'Twist' but that's not on the album.

1927's "Ish..." album was superb...well in my ears anyway.
Thats when I think of you, All the people and Propoganda Machine did it for me.

It is good, though not necessarily their best album. But I don't really like to think of Shack as a forgotten band. Never seen one of theirs in Poundland IIRC.

I remember 'Comedy' looked like becoming a T40 single but lost out at the last minute and came in at 44 or something. If they'd only charged £1:99 for the CD they might have made it. They had a few other T75 singles too, including this non-album oddity:

Actually, last time I looked in Poundland they had several copies of the Midfield General album. Which I'd already bought (for 99p!) but it does contain this classic single:

Poundland have albums? I have the red light company album as well, mist give it another listen, remember liking a couple of the singles and the album was okay. Can I add Kubichek to the mix?

"Burning Rain" by Crazy House.
Re-released a few years later (same performers, possibly same recording, different record label) as "Perfect Crime" by Shrine of 8
