The BBC are remaking the classic children's show The Clangers. www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-10-14/clangers-remake-set-for-bbc-in-2015One of the biggest shocks I got when we first got a colour television was that The Clangers were pink. They had shown how to make a Clanger out of a sock on Blue Peter. Socks were grey so surely Clangers were grey as well

This is to tie in with 50 years of Children's TV programmes, there is a special Royal Mail stamp set to commerative the event next January. I'm surprised they are not releasing the series next year.

not bad.
i'll probably watch it too- since i did watch a few of the original episodes. (not when it was originally broadcast though)
i want them to remake mister ben and gulla gulla island. (which i absolutely, truly love!)
oh
and the busy world of richard scarry, which i still have a mug of and watched every afternoon

I've seen a few of them so far and they have been wonderful. My two-and-a-half year old niece watched the first one with her dad (my brother) and kept repeating "Tiny Clanger has lost her music". It looks like we have another fan

I've watched 3 so far, and I'll definitely be watching the entire 52 episode run. It is a charming production, retaining all of the original features that I loved so much as a child. Michael Palin doesn't yet feel right as narrator, but as Oliver Postgate is sadly no longer with us, I can put up with that. But the puppets and the stories are spot on. Congratulations to all involved.

I'm rather a long way behind. I've just seen the one with the eggbots which was possibly the best one so far.

I've watched 5 so far, and they have been uniformly excellent. My mother is hooked now, too.
This year's must have Christmas toy will be Clanger related. You read it here first.

I suspect Clanger merchandise will indeed be popular at Christmas. One of the episodes got one million viewers, which is massive for CBeebies. Its regular audience (based on overnight ratings) is close to half a million, making it the channel's most popular programme.

My niece is walking around now whistling like a clanger.
Reminds me of when i did the first time round. Oh happy days.
