I loved Gene back in the day and saw them many times. The first time was a bit of luck. They were supporting Magnapop and I had read a couple things which led me to believe I would like them. However, they were the first band of three on the night. I had seen the band between Gene and Magnapop (name long forgotten) a few days earlier supporting Suede and they were terrible. So, do I endure their set again in order to see Gene or do I just go along for Suede? Thankfully I went for the former option and didn't regret it (apart from hating the other band again). They had some classy t-shirts as well!

A website I have saved as one of my favourites, which highlights an awful lot of reissues (& new releases from pre 2000 acts), as well as numerous interviews with these artists, producers, etc is: www.superdeluxeedition.com/

Super Deluxe Edition is a good site, although they did have to take down a post about the aforementioned Gene reissues after the guy it was plagiarised from complained.

Oasis has announced a reissue of its first three studio albums, Definitely Maybe, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now, called Chasing The Sun, in honor of the 20th Anniversary of their musical debut.
The first of the reissues, Definitely Maybe, will be released May 19 via Big Brother Recordings, and is said to include “rare and unseen footage” and “previously unheard tracks.” The remastered version of the album will be available in a three-disc special edition CD, digital download, a 12-inch LP featuring the bonus content, and a box set of all of those formats combined.
For nostalgic purposes, they’re issuing a limited number of replica cassettes of the Original 1993 Demos, sold by Oasis before they were officially signed.
And if you haven’t had enough Oasis yet, the band will also release a 12-inch of their single “Supersonic” for Record Store Day on April 19.
All of this is available for preorder through Oasis’ website.
The Chasing The Sun editions of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now will also be reissued sometime this year, though a date has not been set.
=============================================================================
Definitely Maybe was originally released in August 1994 and was an immediate critical and commercial success. The fastest selling debut album ever (at the time), it went seven-times platinum in the UK (over 2 million copies), and sold 5 million worldwide. Containing the classic debut single Supersonic, released April 1994, and subsequent singles Shakermaker, Live Forever, and Cigarettes & Alcohol. The album was remastered in 2014 by Ian Cooper at Metropolis Mastering, London.
The Special Edition 3CD set includes all the B-sides plus rare and unreleased Oasis tracks from the Definitely Maybe era, including their huge Christmas single from 1994, Whatever. Highlights of the bonus content include:
• Previously unheard live acoustic versions of Live Forever and Shakermaker from a Paris in-store gig around the time of the release of Definitely Maybe • Half The World Away (Live, Tokyo Hotel Room): an early and intimate version of this Oasis classic, recorded in Noel’s Gallagher’s hotel room in Tokyo in 1994 by Mark Coyle • Strange Thing (Demo) from the Original 1993 Demos cassette • Sad Song (Live at Manchester Academy) a previously unheard recording • Whatever (Strings): recorded on a portable cassette machine at Maison Rouge Studios by Mark Coyle • Packaged in a hard back book and artwork includes exclusive track by track.

I still remember seeing the video for Supersonic and thinking, brilliant, I never knew they'd be that huge, I was just glad when it made the charts!

Think when they put whatever out you could see something big was going on. I have nearly all the tracks but still feel a compulsion to buy the remasters

I'm not a big Oasis fan, but even I can see there's a live track from the 'Shakermaker' single missing.
