I might add beg steal and borrow as well (I know not strictly in line with the thread but I thought it was appropriate) In this vein I thought of: You can reach me by railway You can reach me by trailway You can reach me on an airplane You can reach me with your mind You can reach me by a caravan Cross the desert like an Arab man I don't care how you get here Get here if you can Oleta Adams

"Get Here" - Oleta Adams? Yes, indeed. Or.....Brenda Russell! OK. nothing wrong at all with the cover version (and Oleta Adams has a great voice), but the original is also rather lovely - and by a seriously underappreciated and too little known singer-songwriter - her greatest hits albums is pretty consistently good, for all that she only really had one hit!
Then
"I was not looking for Linda, Linda found me/ hiding away, on the slowtrain home" (Hue & Cry)
and
"Walkabout" (Sugarcubes) - - - however was this one not an enormous hit? Not least as it was the follow-up to "Hit", which was....?
"Highway 5" (The Blessing) "Walking On The Milky Way" (OMD) "The English Motorway System" (Black Box Recorder) "The Road To Happiness" (The Lilac Time - or the Claudia Brucken cover) "Kings Cross" (Pet Shop Boys - or, again, the Claudia Brucken cover) "Walking In My Shoes" (Depeche Mode) "Walking On Ice" (River City People) "Weed Bus" (The Stairs) "Londonderry Road" (His Latest Flame) "The Wrong Road" (The Go-Betweens) "All The Way From America" (Joan Armatrading) "Road" (Nick Drake) "Way To Blue" (Nick Drake) "You're Walking" (Electribe 101)
"Road To Your Soul" (All About Eve) "Running Around Town" (Billie Ray Martin) "Heaven Knows Which Way" (The Adventures) "Bad Roads Ahead" (The Great Park) "I Will Walk On Water" (Marillion) "Tell Me Where You're Going" (Silje) "I Walk The Earth" (Voice Of The Beehive) "Avenue" (Saint Etienne) "Train Train" (Billy Bragg) "Get On The Bus" (Destiny's Child) "National Express" (The Divine Comedy) "Run 2" (New Order) "Last Of The Steam-Powered Trains" (The Kinks) "White Train" (The Hollow Men)
