Lana is back with album #2 Ultraviolence, followup to the immense Born to Die. She said it was gonna be darker and certainly lead single West Coast sounds kinda somber. The song premiered this morning and seems to have split the fans, some love it, some wanted something poppier... Myself I'm not sure, I like the verses (sound very Tori Amos ca. Hotel) and the prechorus but the chorus is not strong enough for me. Good but not great song for me so far

This song is weird. Not sure of it just yet.

I do really like it, and it's great to have Lana back, but I'm not feeling this as much as I was Video Games, Born To Die, or Ride.

I agree with the 'very Tori Amos' comment. That's not a bad thing by any means.
It's pretty good in my view. I think it may grow on people after a few listens if they don't feel it instantly.
Cheers

Echo the Tori Amos sentiment!
I love this, and already on iTunes here too!!

I do really like it, and it's great to have Lana back, but I'm not feeling this as much as I was Video Games, Born To Die, or Ride. It took me about 6 weeks to get into Video Games, so my liking her new song immediately seems like a good sign.

Love it! Going on a road trip in the US in a few weeks time and I can see this album being our soundtrack - epic!

Oh I really liked her live, she´s nice, she did a sorta greatest hits gig with only 2 newies (Ultraviolence and West Coast), guess she will add more newies in the future

I'm not completely sold on this album, I have to say - there are some stand out tracks (West Coast by a mile) but some others a find a bit treading water along the same theme, and The Other Woman is so so awful. Shame, I was really excited for this, and it feels a bit "oh, this will do".

I have to admit I´m also a bit disappointed with the album. I find myself just playing the 5/6 songs that I really like and skipping the rest. Also, the album is super cohesive but I miss some upbeat/rnb/pop track ala Off to the Races or Summertime Sadness
