130 The Gaslight Anthem – Great Expectations Another track from the ''59 Sound'. Need to play this album again. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Leo9HSaGQ 129 Peter Bjorn And John – Young Folks Now one of the most familiar songs and videos of the 00s. Everybody has heard it but hardly anyone remembers who did. This reached #13 in 2006.

Need to check your list and comment.
I want to complete top songs list for 2000s decade too in near future. Possibly not top 1000, but at least top 500. I didn't have constant weekly charts, so it will be very massive work. Year by year. After the end of 2009 list, now I work over the Top 100 of 2008.

Ok we are not in the top 100 yet but the quality from now on just hits another level
First up at #128 The Dandy Warhols – Godless
Third single taken from 'Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia' and just a brilliant chilled out track with amazing trumpets guess it was a bit like The Boo Radleys. It only reached #66 in 2001.

*****************************127 Kasabian - Empire ***************************************
The song my internet radio station, my email address and now my Youtube channel gets its name from. BNE Radio
Brand New Empire. The other half of the name will come soon. Kasabian were just a perfect band at this point. 'Empire' in Kasabian speak means 'Something that is good' and that's all I have ever tried to do, bring people good music.
This single reached #9 in 2006 .

Top 200 region (# 127 - # 200):# 200. My least favourite her single, only one which wasn't in my charts. # 198. Signature song of year. Not bad period for UK # 1s. # 195. Hate this single for blocking "I Can't Break Down" from deserved # 1 position in UK. Princessa Avenue was the best Russian girlband. Ladies' kiss was included in their video "Tear". www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkW9nGwQW0U# 194. Favourite Manics' song, thanks to Nina's vocal. # 189. My guilty pleasure, together with their main hit. # 185. Hate it. Don't understand how this single spent nine undeserved weeks at # 1 in UK. # 181. Like this video for "Alice in Wonderland" theme, from Gwen's solo I prefer her ballads "Cool" and "Early Winter". # 179. This song was in my pre-list, but didn't reach top 100 of 2009. Looks like "My Delirium" is her best single for me. # 176. Great group. I didn't hear many songs, so must fill the gaps in my music knowledge. # 172. "In The Shadows" wasn't # 1 in UK, only peaked at # 3. # 169. Awful choice. There are not many female acts and you choose it. # 167. Very annoying, but I didn't hate it so much now as before. # 166. Love this track. "Followed The Waves" was introduced for me from Russian radio "Maximum" in 2005. Together with "Mono" and 2raumwohnung "Play". # 153. Just "No". Do you include any Little Boots' songs in top 1000 ? She was prefect, LaRoux wasn't. # 135, 140. My least favourite group of 2000s. I hope that there is not any Bloc Party's tracks in the higher part of your chart. # 137. Awful !!! Why male acts have many good entries in this region and the females are represented by Santogold, Gossip and La Roux ? The You might have noticed that I prefer indie alternative music so your typical female pop star is very unlikely to feature highly , I tend not to like pop stars and solo acts. The Gossip and La Roux are bands not solo for example. Also Little Boots was ok but I just found her quite forgettable in that now I can't remember what any of her songs sounded like. Finally I wouldn't go in your list and mark things awful as it is likely that I will dislike most of them, we should focus on common likes otherwise it can get petty

*****************126 We Are Scientists – Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt *****************
Another one you are a fan of Daz. We are Scientist's debut single and arguably their best. Reached #21 on re-issue in 2006.

*******************125 Morrissey – First Of The Gang To Die ******************* I think most will agree Morrissey's best single of the 21st century. I finally managed to see him live prompting this album. I can't find a video for this but I am sure there was one. This reached #20 in 2004. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qgn1Rc0YJ4********************124 Linkin Park – In The End ************************** Well this would be probably be within my top 100 if I recompiled this list but its still a very good placing. It reached #8 in 2001 and number 2 in the US.

********************123 The Walkmen – The Rat **************************
A song now that has just grown in popularity over the years and didn't make my original top 200 when I first compiled this in 2011. Now regarded as an indie classic it reached #45 in 2004 from their 2nd album 'Bows + Arrows'

********************122 Maximo Park – Apply Some Pressure **************************
Maximo Parks 2nd single but it was really the one that brought the band to everyone's attention. Originally they were though of as a rival cash-in on Futureheads sound but they were actually just as good and over the years have surpassed them. This reached #17 in 2005.

Appearing at just the right time this Strokeish fun song was a big hit reaching #25 in 2003. Still can't get over what a great time this was for music.

********************120 The Goo Goo Dolls – Big Machine **************************
But with all this great new music around what was my most played album of 2002. It was this!! I absolutely loved the 'Gutterflower' album mixing indie rock with 80s AOR. They have one more song to come much higher up. Absolutely shocking that none of these songs were hits in UK but The calling was, just a travesty. You would think they only wrote one song UK!!

Is it your favourite 100 songs from each year combined in one chart or some years have more/less entries ? No it doesn't have much bearing on the year end lists and i couldn't do that anyway as I have lost 2000-2003. Also the first few of them were done on points which is a terrible way to rate things. This is purely personal as I felt at the time. Some of the songs never even made my weekly chart never mind my top 100 year end. Oh and I only have 9 female fronted acts to come of which 5 are solo, so not a lot for the girls.

I already like 3 % songs from this chart and the percentage will be able to increase because there is a lot of bands, which I don't know.

I went to see them play a gig then ending up chatting with them afterwards. I ended up hanging out with them in another bar, spending the night drinking and talking to them for the rest of the night, amongst several threats that I was going to kidnap their drummer as the band I was in needed a drummer

********************119 Doves – There Goes The Fear**************************
Another entry for Doves and they still have a few to come, this list has really showed I liked them a lot. Hope they reform proper one day. This was the first single from their second album 'The Last Broadcast' and reached #3
