Set to feature on Radio 2's 'Sounds of the 80's' compilation album & played on the Sarah Cox show of the same name. Cover of the Kim Carnes classic to celebrate the 1st Birthday of the Radio 2 show. It takes a few listens

I can't open this.
I am intrigued so I'll see whether I can find it on you tube.

Of course Kim Carnes' monster global hit from 1981 was a cover of Jackie DeShannon's country/r'n'b lite original from 1974:

I think I'll stick to the Kim Carnes version.

Poor Kylie, she really isn't relevant anymore, I really want her to release something good.

Seems like a bit of mission creep here - I thought the idea was to have contemporary acts covering Eighties songs, but somewhere down the line they seem to have brought in Kylie, Level 42 and Texas (covering an Altered Images song, which is surely cheating) all of whom obviously had hits in the decade themselves.
This isn't a terrible version but she hasn't really added anything to it.

Finally managed to open this on you tube and, to be perfectly honest, it wasn't really worth the effort.
Not horrible by any means but it just didnt work for me.
Much better to stick on the Kim Carnes version.
