Pharrell Williams can't sing, Emeli Sande sounds as the newt, Lorde and Florence Welch don't even come close to hitting the top notes, the orchestration is a total mess and most of them look more smug than David Cameron on a pile of fifties.
Just release the original and give the hundreds of thousands this cost to the charities.

Surprised Bono and Tom Jones aren't on there again...or Robbie Williams for that matter. No Paul McCartney either!

Not a big fan of singles like this, for charity or otherwise

Don't see the point - I'd give them money not to bother with these kind of things

Surprised Bono and Tom Jones aren't on there again...or Robbie Williams for that matter. No Paul McCartney either! I'd imagine Bono is not on it for the identical reason that Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) who definitely recorded his part sometime in the past 18 months has been ditched from the final cut. That may then explain why Gary Barlow is also absent, and in turn explain why his sometime band mate is not doing his usual turn up on at the Opening of an Envelope when it comes to "Charriddee" records. As for MacCa, perhaps even he now realizes his voice is now tragic compared to his once brilliant vox of 50/40/30 years ago. As perhaps Tom Jones not being on it might be because the BBC don't want to be accused by the Daily Heil, and other newspapers of subliminally promoting the next series of The Voice. So Kylie is OK as she has been replaced by Rita Ora.

Might have been better if you could actually hear everyone over the noise.

However the BBC do seem to be terrified of any accusation of bias from the likes of the Wail, Scum and Distress.

The 2014 Children In Need Single is a Various Artist version of the Beach Boys 1966 UK No.2 Hit 'God Only Knows'. It has a host of big Acts in it, & it is certainly going to be No.1. (It may even reach a UK Million Sale). However, I don't think it is as good as the Beach Boys original. LINK:,GOD ONLY KNOWS - VARIOUS ARTISTSwww.youtube.com/watch?v=XqLTe8h0-jo

Now that I've heard it, it's not as bad as I'd feared from some of the comments.

It is obviously seen as a chance to sell as well as 'Perfect Day'.
I don't think that it is as good as the Beach Boys original.

Pharrell is the biggest thing there is at the moment, how is that a terrible choice for high profiling a charity song? I'll have a listen later, but Perfect Day worked okay, and the CiN songs have been selling less and less recently and been pretty damn awful!

lol one direction make take that look like the beatles
what happens when the public attention for one direction wanes, the answer... rami yacoub, carl falk, savan kotecha will write songs for someone else and in 20 year they will be nobodies, older, uglier, fatter and about as talented as kerry katona as they never had any to start with because they never wrote, produced any of their big hits, they are just lucky they are the number one cash cow of the moment to get milked
