To be honest, this year has been a difficult one , due to not being ionto music much this year and the music that has been released.
Off the top of my head, I cant even think of a top album..will have a look through to see whats been released this year.

Not a great year. Every time I went to select an album it was actually late 2013 - seems to be I'm slow to love some albums.
For me, as usual, it is all about the girls doing the interesting stuff:
Banks - Goddess Fka twigs - LP1 Natalie Merchant - Natalie Merchant Tori Amos - Unrepentant Geraldines Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Wanderlust

Other than a couple of dance compilations I've bought just the one album this year...
Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour
Back in the 80s and 90s i was buying albums every week but now I tend to just stream on YouTube now and save myself a small fortune. To be honest, with how stagnated the charts have become there doesn't appear to be many new releases getting through.
I'm looking forward to forthcoming releases from Ella Eyre and Calvin Harris, so may invest in them if they're released before year end.

I know I'm far too populist for this thread, but my Top 5 of the year so far is:-
1. Kasabian - 48:13 2. Paolo Nutini - Caustic 3. Jungle - Jungle 4. Future Islands - Singles 5. Bruce Springsteen - High Hopes
I haven't bought the George Ezra album yet, but based on the singles I've heard, I'm sure I'd like that one too. I'll be asking Santa for First Aid Kit, which would be a Top 5 contender too, I suspect.

If we're not counting the C86 retrospective, then the following stand out:
HMHB - Urge To Offal Blonde Redhead - Barragan Zola Jesus - Taiga Johnny Foreigner - You Can Do Better Dum Dum Girls - Too True
A dire year on the whole.
