Starting early this year, as we've had one "up" confirmed already:
Scottish Championship Hearts are promoted with 7 games to spare after Rangers beat Hibs.
Next up could be Blackpool's relegation, as they're 17 points adrift of safety with only 7 games to go.

Blackpool would have been relegated yesterday if Rotherham had won as they still have a match against Fulham.
How far down are you taking this? Poor old Hyde were nearly relegated from Conference N yesterday.

Just a complete lack of funds and departures of key people, so they've had to play a conveyor belt of kids with no experience at that level and players who can't get a game elsewhere. They did manage to win one league game in September but then had the points deducted for fielding an ineligible player...

Thanks. Do you know why Hyde have done so badly in the last two seasons? I assume it's the same sort of problem but I haven't seen anything definite. Their official Twitter feed has been entertaining.

Yes, pretty much a similar thing I think. My mate who I go to games with started following them on Twitter earlier in the season, when they almost won a game and one of the updates said "HOLY SHITBALLS! Penalty to Hyde!!"
I've got great sympathy for anyone doing Twitter updates for a team that's losing week in, week out, having done them for Marske United for the last two seasons and experienced a wide variety of highs and lows.

Poor old Hyde were nearly relegated from Conference N yesterday. When I've done this in the past, I've taken it down to the English Conference and Scottish Div 3. It'll probably vary this season depending on how much time I have each week. Of course, I'd be very happy if others wanted to contribute non-league ups/downs. We'll see how much time I have once it gets busy - I'm going to a conference in San Francisco at the end of April, so I'll either have a lot of time or none at all.

Non-league ups and downs:
STEP 2
Conference North Hyde are relegated - 16 points from safety with only 5 games remaining.
STEP 5
Hellenic Premier Cheltenham Saracens and Shrivenham are both down, with two more teams to join them.
North West Counties Premier Stockport Sports were suspended from the league last month and their record appears to have been expunged. Their long-term future is unclear at this stage.
Northern League Division 1 Crook Town were relegated at the end of February, having won just one game all season.
Sussex County League Division 1 Crawley Down Gatwick and Selsey are both down, with just one win each this season.
STEP 6
Sussex County League Division 2 Worthing United are guaranteed promotion to Division 1.

The match updates are generally entertaining At least they have had a better run of results recently, so they might be able to halt their slide next season.

Saturday 29 March
Just one thing to look out for this weekend:
Conference Premier Telford could go down this weekend if they lose ground on Alfreton (2 pts) and Southport, without gaining on Aldershot. It's unlikely though, because Alfreton would have to beat table-topping Barnet.

Easter Monday, 6 April
Championship Blackpool will be relegated without playing is Rotherham win at home to fellow strugglers Brighton. They'll still go down on Tuesday (home to Reading) if they don't better Rotherham's result.
Conference Premier Dartford will go down if they lose further ground on Alfreton. Both are at home to top three clubs.

Saturday 11 April
Premier League Chelsea (Sun) will qualify for the Champions League if they win, Liverpool (Mon) and Spurs both lose, and Southampton drop points.
League One Bristol City will be promoted if they win, MK Dons lose and Swindon don't win. Yeovil will be relegated if they fail to win (since Crewe and Leyton Orient, straddling the drop zone, play each other, so one of them has to not lose).
Conference Premier Dartford will be relegated unless they win (against fellow strugglers Nuneaton) and Alfreton lose (at play-off chasing Eastleigh). Nuneaton will go down if their result is worse than Alfreton's.
Scottish League One Stirling will be relegated unless they win and one of Ayr and Stenhousmuir drop points.
Scottish League Two Montrose are all but mathematically certain to finish bottom (4 games left, 12 points adrift, goal difference 43 behind), but their play-off place will be sealed unless they win and Berwick lose. Oddly, Berwick still have hopes of promotion play-offs - they're just fix points behind fourth-placed East Fife, who they play in two weeks.
There are more football league matches on Tuesday, so there will probably be a midweek edition of Ups+Downs.

Will update the non-league tomorrow if I have time but Celtic Nation and Billingham Synthonia were both relegated from Northern League Division 1 today.
