And the biggest game of the day was at thistle hill where Knaresborough Celtic were taking on Nidd United in the Nidd Valley Cup Final!

It ended 6-2 to Celtic with Sam scoring a 20 yard left foot volley, absolutely stunning and someone was recording it so we may get the vid snippet at some point! He's a very happy lad, now he's got to revise for his GCSEs

The winning team, can anyone recognise Sam from seeing pictures of him years ago? Attachment Deleted

The winning team, can anyone recognise Sam from seeing pictures of him years ago? Fifth from the left? Maybe 2nd from the left, but i'll stick with my first thought. And, especially in light of the post immediately below, chance of going on to play in the Knaresbrough first team in the future? Assuming he wants to continue and is able to of course.

Man Utd's match at home to Bournemouth has been abandoned prior to kick off with two stands of the ground being evacuated and sniffer dogs brought in.
Surely it can't be a bomb scare? If it was I would expect all of the ground to have been evacuated. Even the Sky Sports people are still in the ground, in the media suite.

Sparse details on the BBC website. No doubt the page will be updated but all it says at present is Manchester United's final-day match against Bournemouth has been called off because of a suspect package found in the stand.

They keep talking about a suspect package, but my thoughts are the same. I had wondered whether to try and go to this match. I'm glad I didn't now. I would certainly be feeling a bit nervous if I was still in the stadium.

The problem now becomes when to play the Man U game. Realistically, it has to be tomorrow or Monday because of the Cup Final. That will disappoint many Bournemouth fans looking forward to an Old Trafford visit, but at least there's another one next season.

That will disappoint many Bournemouth fans looking forward to an Old Trafford visit, but at least there's another one next season. It might be too early to hold the match in the next few days. Do the police still have the right to be given 7 days (or however long) notice when a match is scheduled / rescheduled?

I think the police can waive that right, so it would be possible to play it in the next couple days.

Newcastle have gone goal crazy! It's currently Newcastle 5 Spurs 1. At least our last game in the Premier League for at least one season is our best result of this season.

I see your logic, but Sam wears contacts when he plays now, he's bottom right

As usual when i'm not watching a game, have kept away from the scores before watching MOTD later, apart from seeing Robbie's post about the Newcastle game above. When you have Prem matches with absolutely nothing at stake on the final day you often get the odd weird result. May be a significant one for Newcastle as it may convince Benitez to stay.

Well done to Newcastle for giving Arsenal the Runners Up place, a much needed strong drink tonight to celebrate. Trust Spurs to f*** it all up in the last match, good for Arsenal though. That's a result for me.

Great to see Grimsby Town back in the Football league, beating Forest Green 2-1 today. Localish to the Stags, and they will always bring over 500 to our home game, rather than Forest Green who would bring around 50.

Police have just announced that the suspect device found at Old Trafford was a training device left behind in error after a recent security training exercise undertaken at the ground. What a calamity. Although it's better to be safe than sorry it could turn out to be a costly training exercise.
