I am starting to look back as much as forwards these days and I am so into The Cars right now its ridiculous. I heard them the wrong way as 'Drive' was the first song I heard of theirs but now I play them so much they were amazing.
Anybody have a new obsession with an old band?

Do like the cars. I've been listening to a lot of old bands lately. Moody blues, the kinks, styx. Bought all 3 on vinyl
More recently I bought dave Matthews band. Jj72 and easyworld

I suppose one good aspect of my lack of much interest in the current music scene has meant that it's given me the time to discover a lot of old music instead.
I've been listening to Prince pretty much non-stop since his death, and discovered some real classics that I never knew about, ie. the first 2 albums, The love Symbol album (which pretty much passed me by at the time strangely enough), and a lot of his random B-sides are great too.
Also, ABC's original 'Lexicon of love' album has only just been purchased by me(I just had a 'best of' before),but after hearing how good some of the tracks are on volume 2 I felt it was about time I educated myself with the original.

Whilst I've been a fan for a long time I have been giving the Bowie back catalogue another spin

I'm constantly looking back and delving into 80s artists. Recent re-discoveries include Kenny Loggins, Pointer Sisters and Shalamar.
Kenny Loggins is so much more than his soundtrack big hits. His 1982 album "High Adventure" is some great 'yacht rock'.

Just watched your Cars video for "You Might Think" - didn't think I'd know the song but then WOW... the video... it all came flooding back! I must've taped the video on a vhs as a kid in the 80s. The video is all too familiar - especially the fly on her nose etc. What an excellent find! That's why threads like these are great. There I was thinking all I knew was "Drive".

I've been listening to the Associates a fair bit lately. Me too. Only recently discovered 'breakfast' and their version of 'heart of glass'
