I don't think Ryan Gosling's performance is worthy of a nomination, let alone a win

Not his fault if he was given the wrong envelope

but come on, if you open an envelope and it says "Best actress- Emma Stone-Lalaland" you might figure out it's the wrong envelope

La La Land didn't make the sweep many expected.
You gotta feel for Damien Chazelle in the circumstances but at least he has the consolation of his personal award.

I watched La La land and it was difficult to warm to the characters. It looked lovely and the music was good. Manchester by the Sea was ok. Have to check out Moonlight I guess.

Someone's getting fired in the morning... I mean how hard is it to put cards in the right envelopes, and does no one seriously double check?

I'm sure it was done deliberately, to gain a bit of attention. Definitely people at work talking about the Oscars this morning who never normally show any interest in films.

Definitely a ploy.
I've seen Moonlight and it's not an enjoyable film at all. But very predictable for the Academy to come back from the race issue of last year in a big way, giving Best Picture to a film with an all black cast.
On the plus side, couldn't be more happy for Viola getting her Oscar

This gimmick was also used for last year's Miss Universe when Steve Harvey read out the wrong winner... got everyone talking about it as planned.

Really, that's very harsh on the one that misses out having been told they've won. What is the worldwide audience, surely they're not struggling for viewers and after last year and the black issue then all eyes would be on it anyway.

People would have been tuning in to this years ceremony anyway because of all the promised anti-trump speeches
