Long time lurker, now finally after three months on the forums!. I currently live in Eastbourne in the South, although originally from Brighton. Living with my boyfriend of a 6 year relationship (so far!) and our two cats . I work at Wetherspoons in the town centre during the weekdays (not a weekend worker like most of the staff!) and spend the weekends with my other half, either down the local haunts or watching the Seagulls! (That's the football team!). Looking forward to knowing you all! .

Should be a good ride in the first season, but as soon as a team consolidates themselves in the league, relegation isn't enjoyable!. If we go down next season, it won't feel so bad but I've renewed my season while a few at work are hoping to get matchday tickets instead.
Been a supporter since I was 10 (1999), I'm 28 now so missed out on the Gillingham groundshare stories I've been told many a time about!.
Also came here to discuss music, which of course is the main reason this place exists!. Am not fan of music who likes one band more than any other, I just listen to what I like and go from there and only see most of the bands I've ever seen live by going to festivals. Have seen Stereophonics and Biffy Clyro at their own shows though, as well as the Manics and British Sea Power. Only been gigging/festivaling since turning 17.

I have seen you around the football discussion.
My own club had our ground-sharing years too.
With regards to music, are you looking to discover / be introduced to music here?

Most definetly, my other half has converted me to plenty of bands so far, but a message board forum enables anyone to discover the little-known stuff a lot more.

Well on this site, we have:
1. A Personal Charts forum where members post their favourite current music and can be a way to discover music, especially if you find people whose tastes are similar to yours.
2. A "single of the week" and "non-hit single of the month" series of polls, the former is for current music as it is released, the latter is retro by one month where people pick their favourite songs that came out but didn't make it chartwise.
3. Music contests, mostly "Hidden Indie Treasures" where people pick, usually from any era, music that wasn't a hit by unknown artists and then we vote on each other's choices.
4. Retro charts from 1967 and 1985 where we each submit personal charts from those years and are combined into a combi-chart. A lot of the entries are chart hits but that can often include US hits that were not hits in the UK, and sometimes occasional worldwide hits or album tracks or singles that were released but not hits. (Plus I do a retro chart series, where I am now in November 1968 and raliverpool has covered the entire 1960s and 1970s).
In addition there is a contest called Haven Factor where most of the contestants enter with well-known artists but we've had a few entries from lesser known artists, and often lesser-known songs by the well-known artists have been submitted for some of the rounds.
Plus there are various posts in forums where people simply promote music on an ad-hoc basis.
So there is a lot of "music discovery" on this site. With the wonders of youtube and spotify, it is much easier than it was in my day.

Eastbourne is a place I have not been to for quite a few years. Has it changed much since 2005.
