A brand new number one this week as Simple Minds topple Tears For Fears with Don’t You (Forget About Me)




A decisive takeover at the top for the Scottish group with a track taken from The Breakfast Club in an otherwise relatively steady Top Ten, which may prove hard to beat over the next few weeks.


This week’s highest new entry is from U2 with The Unforgettable Fire, which just misses out on a Top Ten place at number 11.


There’s a massive climb from Freddie Mercury, up 19 places to number 13 with I Was Born To Love You, with The Bangles not far behind, up 18 places to number 21 with Going Down To Liverpool.

I was hoping for something more of a memorial video and there are a couple of them. I guess in a few weeks when we get "that" song I can post something else about it.

Assuming we are still going with this on 15 April 1989 I guess that date will also get a similar post, although maybe raliverpool would rather do that one.
