As I have said before a few of us thought ROCK and the rest thought rock. Britpop and indie rock is just trumphing grunge and heavy rock thats just the way this turned out. Yep, I agree. Not a criticism of anyone. Daz made it clear from the start that he was considering rock in its widest context, and those of us who've been around for a while know that Haven likes crossover music more than any full-on genre, whether it be dance, r'n'b, country, reggae or rock. Most of the time, I used this as an opportunity to showcase ROCK not rock, but I must confess to have headed for the middle ground in some rounds.

The Bon Jovi track was weak for me, but it was also a very strong round. Couple of surprises higher up than I thought they would be.

Guns N Roses is rock. Let's see how that does. Nirvana was heavy rock and won its round. Maybe it's not the fact that these are rock but that they're not that popular as songs. Maybe you can run the next one and only accept what is really rock. I haven't entered songs to win a popularity contest ironically or I would have entered UK number ones and Top Gear type rock anthems. I have entered Rock songs I love that may not get enough love or have been a bit forgotten in general. Although I do have one Top Gear type rock anthem to come.

7. Milliways (73 points) Andrew WK - Party Hard
Top points from me, Roo and Rubcale, it’s just a fun song and you don’t get more rock, 73 points is Milliways best points total so far just topping his 71 points in round 4

10. Smokeyb (41 points) Dr Feelgood – Roxette
No maximum points, it either scored well or got zeros, probably the most marmite track of the round in that regard, no Roo yet? He will be pleased Criminally low! This was my rediscovery of the round. Thought there would be some love for it, nearly a 3rd of the points came from me. Mine too. I gave it big points. Good choice smokeyb.

6. Earl Purple (81 points) Smiths - Reel Around The Fountain
Sneaking into 6th place despite not getting a single maximum points, a low finish for the current overall leader but is 81 points enough to keep his lead?

As I said to Daz when I voted, I saw Andrew WK on the list and knew it was getting my 15 points instantly. It is pure fun and joy to me.
Ooh, I gave EP points in every single round up until this one - he was the only one that was the case for.

Found the Smiths song quite dull really. 4 of the final 5 got points from me, and then there's mine

5. Shireblogger (99 points) Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
99 points would have been enough for joint 1st place in round 2 but Shireblogger will have to settle for 5th this round, Big Dan and Greendemon gave it their 15 points

Smiths got my 12 points; not quite enough to beat Dire Straits but it's a really lovely song of theirs. I did think it was a brave choice as it wouldn't appeal to everyone but it did rather well!

I admit I picked the wrong song, this was my other choice.
The Flaming Lips - She Don't Use Jelly

4. Greendemon (105 points)The Stone Roses – She Bangs The Drums
Another good finish for Jade, 5th, 4th and 4th in the last 3 rounds has put her in contention at the top of the overall leaderboard, needless to say Thorney gave it his 15 ha, great song and another Manchester song doing well

A great song, but I guess it is not ROCK compared to the same self title debut album What Difference Does It Make which surely would have scored more points.

I thought they might be too much of an anachronism against some pretty groundbreaking competition.

3. Raliverpool (111 points) Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine
My favourite to win this round and it got lots of votes but only 2 of the 17 voters gave it their 15 points (Whitneyfan and Earl Purple)but anything around 100 points is a very good score and more importantly it is 30 points more than EP
