Former England football captain Ray Wilkins has died at the age of 61.
He was one of the game's most gifted defensive midfielders of the 1980s, with great vision and tactical awareness. He played 84 times for England, and for Chelsea, Manchester United, QPR, AC Milan, Rangers and Paris St Germain.
RIP

Very sad news. Met him a couple of years ago and he seemed a genuinely nice man.

Very sad news. Met him a couple of years ago and he seemed a genuinely nice man. I saw him on the tube a few years ago. He gave up his seat to a pregnant woman, and didn't seem to have any pretentions to being a famous face. Based on that 5 minute voyeurist assessment, I'd say he was probably a good bloke.
