22/09/2019 Black Country, New Road - Sunglasses
If you like Black Midi, if you like Kate Tempest, if you like Squid then you will like this Cambridge based avant jazz alternative indie with a dollop of literary prose thrown in together.
Need to listen to this but funnily enough I have a different view of each of those acts Black Midi I just don't get, Kate Tempest I hate and I am loving Squid hehe

26/09/2019 Jeff Lynne's ELO - From Out of Nowhere
The Brummie studio-rock perfectionist is back with the new album From Out Of Nowhere out 1st November. Ironically, this sounds more like Oasis than anything on Liam Gallagher's second album which sounds like he is covering a bunch of Adele rejects.

28/09/2019 Marika Hackman - Hand Solo
Taken from her recent album ‘Any Human Friend’, the video for Hackman’s new single is directed by Sam Bailey and features a montage of everyday objects being suggestively stroked.

01/10/2019 Chvrches - Death Stranding
The Glasgow indietronica band are back with a new track apparently NOT about Radio 1 favourite Chris Brown wishing them death (as he did to the lead singer Lauren Mayberry a few months ago on Twitter "BUNCH OF LOSERS. these are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients. Keep groveling over you (sic) own insecurities and hatred. IM (sic) BLACK AND PROUD. AND I KNOW ITS (sic) HURTS THAT U GUYS ARE STRUGGLING WIT (sic) LIFE OR PEACE SO U ARE FORCED TO SEE MY SUCCESS. You aren't even #2 (REMEMBER 2nd place only means YOU LOST FIRST! TA-TA. GOODDAY (sic) PEASANTS”. & 'you know what we’re gonna do? We’re gonna rape you and shoot you.' For the record I wholeheartedly disagree with Chris Brown and agree with Chvrches that MJ was a paedophile).

02/10/2019 Kele - Between Me and My Maker
The former Bloc Party frontman announced details of his new solo record ‘2042’ out 8th November, and yesterday dropped this excellent single which to me sounds like a cross between Tears For Fears & Kasabian.

03/10/2019 Meg Myers - Running Up That Hill
Meg Myers is a Nashville born musician who moved to LA, and has released 2 major record label releases and two extended plays to minor chart success. But is now enjoying her biggest hit to date in US alternative & modern rock charts with this excellent cover of the 1985 Kate Bush classic .... Which just so happened to be revamped with a rerecorded vocal (alongside some Haus of Gaga stage, lights & choreography at the 2012 London Olympics ... which saw the debut of a young 19 year old Heptathlete from Wootton, Liverpool. .... Fast forward 7 years and this "Cat" said in a BBC Radio Sounds podcast & playlist that this new June 2019 version is her motivational song for the 2019 World Athletic Championships where she became a Gold Medal winner breaking the British record .....

05/10/2019 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - A Dream Is All I Need To Get By
The 1960s/early 1970s Laurel Canyon/Californian rock sounding track is taken from his latest experimental EP This Is The Place. Again it features fellow former Oasis & Beady Eye members Chris Sharrock & Gem Archer which no doubt continues to p*ss off Liam Gallagher and his fans.

11/10/2019 Harry Styles - Lights Up
OK, I hated One Direction. I thought most of what they were released was .... (where's Eliot Fletcher & Simon Roberts to express my thoughts). But I was completely caught out by how good Sign Of The Times was; the rest of the album was far from awful either. Thankfully, with the exception of Zayn, the rest of 1D's solo efforts have constantly reassured my own taste in music by being varying degrees of pants (hear right now Niall Horan - Nice To Meet Ya "To Meet Ya, NOT!" & Liam Payne - Stack It Up (more like Sick It Up); . This reminds of Maroon 5 ... if they actually managed to make a really good record ..... or Justin Timberlake if he pretended his last album Man Of The Woods never happened..
