14/11/2019 Billie Eilish - Everything I Wanted
It's almost as if I plan these ..... A great brand new sad banger from the breakout star if not THE act of 2019. It reminds me of what Lorde should be coming up with had she not made that major misstep with her sophomore album.

15/11/2019 Lauryn Hill - Guarding The Gates
The former Fugees singer has just dropped an original new recording ..... and its is far better than I ever thought it would be in a Mary J Blige would kill for this sort of way. This is her first new song since 2013 Consumerism. It is making its debut on the soundtrack to Queen & Slim, Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe’s new movie about a black couple who go on the run after shooting a white cop (played by Sturgill Simpson) during a traffic stop.

18/07/2019 Haim - Hallelujah
Don't panic! This is not the umpteenth attempt at covering the 1984 Leonard Cohen standard; but an all new original singer/songwriter folk ballad (circa Jewel's debut album meets the Dixie Chicks) "about family, love, loss, and being thankful for it all". Yet again its music video directed by Hollywood auteur Paul Thomas Anderson.

19/11/2019 Lewis Capaldi - Before You Go
The Glasgos blue-eyed soul singer/songwriter whom is currently enjoying his 3rd week on top the Billboard Top 100 singles (Someone You Loved) has just dropped a brand new track NOT on his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent; in an attempt to bag the UK Xmas #1 spot. I have to say I much prefer this to everything he has done outside his signature tune.

Still nah, I just don't get Lewis Capaldi love, it is a bit less depressing that his past songs but still, its just very X Factor bloke.

I like him, because he has got a great sense of humour (probably helps that he is dating Noel Gallagher's daughter); and sounds like James Arthur if ever James Arthur learns to sing properly, and write something approaching a half decent tune.
But the best things in his favour are A. He is not Ed Sheeran & B. He is not Sam Smith.

Oh I agree with all of that, he is a fun guy and better than those other options. Just wish he would just do something a bit cheerful to match his personality for once.

20/11/2019 Coldplay - Daddy
The latest song with its lovely, beautiful, moving video taken from Everyday Life out on Friday. That album really seems to be shaping up to be their best since their second album A Rush Of Blood To The Head.

21/11/2019 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds - Wandering Star
Noel finally delivers a Christmas song of sorts. Taken from the March 6th 2020 album Blue Moon Rising. In the festive clip for ‘Wandering Star’, The Irishman actor Stephen Graham portrays a cigarette-smoking Santa who helps a mother (played by his wife and fellow actor Hannah Walters) steal Christmas presents for her children.

25/11/2019 Sheppard - Die Young
You might remember the Australian indie pop band who back in 2014 scored a native #1 hit with "Geronimo" which also went top ten throughout Europe; and charted in North America, but only peaked at UK #36 after Radio 1 inexplicably did not playlist it. Well two albums later and via decreasing returns the band called it a day in 2018 ..... except the lead singer, guitarist & main songwriter George Sheppard has taken possession of the band name (as Vince Furnier (Alice Cooper) & Marvin Lee Aday (Meat Loaf) have done previously) on this enormously catchy track which is climbing the charts Down Under.

26/11/2019 Finneas - Let's Fall In Love For The Night
22 year old Californian born Finneas O'Connell has co-written & produced a number of artists including Camila Cabello; Selena Gomez; & her younger sister Billie Eilish. But now he wants a piece of the action, and this is an excellent acoustic pop song, helped by him possessing a more likeable vox than Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran.

Seeing as Gengahr had been picked by The Thorne; and the new one by The Weeknd is hugely generic and disappointing ....
27/11/2019 Soccer Mommy - Yellow Is The Color Of Her Eyes
Switzerland born, Nashville based Sophie Allison has dropped her 8th lo-fi dream indie pop "single" to date. A lovely melancholic sounding number that sounds like a cross between Camera Obscura & Parachute era Coldplay.
