HAVEN COMBI RETRO-CHART W/B 10th APRIL 1988
The Pet Shop Boys get a third week at the top with Heart. Still picking up points from every individual chart, their score has pretty much plateaued though, with an increase of just a single point this week.
Fleetwood Mac remain at number two for a second week. With a huge 196 points, they have the unfortunate honour of registering the highest ever score for a song in second place. Everywhere is still growing, having closed the gap on Heart, so could still take the top spot at some point.
The Adventures are still climbing with Broken Land, up from number five to number three, although a long way off the pace set by the top two.
Climie Fisher drop a place to number four, still scoring well to hold on to their place in the Top Five after seven weeks on their current chart run with Love Changes (Everything)
Hazell Dean is up to number five with Who’s Leaving Who, equalling her previous best with Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go) in 1984.
Highest new entry sees another high debut from a dance act, this time it’s the turn of S-Express with the Theme From S-Express, in at number six.
There’s a huge climb of 21 places for Danny Wilson as Mary’s Prayer rockets up to number 11 in its third slice of chart action over the last twelve months, and now achieving a new peak as this week’s biggest climber.
