RESPONSE TO A QUESTION ABOUT ABILITY TO DOWNLOAD SONGS THROUGH SPOTIFY, IN PARTICULAR TO A SPECIFIC SD CARD: (original post deleted)
The download option is still there as I use it quite often, though it might apply to entire playlists rather than individual songs. You still have to listen to them in Spotify itself but it's handy for saving data. Not sure if there's a way to specify where exactly they're downloaded to.

Ok thanks Panda, but I can still download them no problem, it's just getting the app to acknowledge the existence of my micro SD card that I'm having trouble with. I seem to have to use my phone's internal storage which regularly runs very low.

Just checked and if you go to Settings > Storage there should be an option to choose where it's downloaded to.

Ah, I've sorted it! Turns out I needed to format my SD card. Everything seems fine and dandy now.

Can someone delete this thread now please? My issue was resolved. Thank you. 🙂
I deleted the original post thinking the rest would go with it but, well, it didn't.

Might be worth keeping it - in case anyone else has this issue or doesn’t know how to manage spotify downloads. I didn’t and I’ve found this enlightening!

I agree. Potentially useful information. I'll amend my reply to Dan for the sake of context.
For future reference, only mods can delete an entire thread if there are multiple posts in it.
