Thanks Smurfie!
I'd normally not rate MmmBop at all, but Hanson have kinda made a resurgence with that song in various incarnations, so I love it now - not the original though lol.

Her next track is part of the "Re-Discovered" album project featuring other 80s artists like Sinitta. Doris has done a cover of "Put Your Records On". It's out on CD too!

Yes the oldest Pearson sister is back with two new tracks.
The first is part of a meditation album. It's actually hauntingly good with some eastern vibes. Also her first ever solo music video!

Although The Jets did very well in the US, they only had one big hit in the UK - "Crush On You". They definitely should have had a couple more top40 hits in my opinion, this one in particular...

1988 : Cross My Heart (# 13) I remember being obsessed with this song and video at the time. She looked amazing in the video. Also covered by Martika the same year. "Cross my Heart" was written by Michael Jay, who wrote two big hits for Five Star.

... Daryl and Carol cant carry this show. They used to be my favourite characters, but they got so boring the last few seasons. I ended up liking the Whisperers more than them lol. I saw a trailer for the spin-off - looks very tweeny.

"Let Me Be The One" actually isn't one of my favourites of their hit singles, but this version has changed that. I really like the updated mix and the vocals are sublime - Doris really has improved leaps and folds - that second verse just pops to life!
I'm hoping this will all lead to more music. Delroy is already doing radio interviews and of course Doris has an agent and is very active on social media.

Incognito I think also covered "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" for which the original by Stevie Wonder is on my 1974 playlist. Loved this when it came out in 1992. And yes I realised it was a cover a few years back when I heard the original being played out and about.

I thought The Housemartin's version was the original, as they're pretty indie and credible, but it was actually an r'n'b US hit in 1985.

Okay last night's episode was pretty amazing. Harked back to the better episodes in the first few seasons. That new girl in the city is refreshing. And the Whisperers plotting their revenge is rather exciting too.
